Íslandshótel, Iceland’s largest hotel company, has signed a new agreement with Aven Hospitality, an independent global technology and SaaS leader in the hospitality industry, powering how hotels sell, distribute, and deliver guest experiences. As part of the new agreement, Íslandshótel will consolidate its direct booking and Global Distribution System (GDS) connectivity across 18 of its 19 properties into a centralized commerce platform designed to support future growth.
Built on SynXis CRS, the hotel group’s connected ecosystem will include Aven Booking Engine, Corporate/Agent Tool and GDS Distribution to grow its reach among leisure agencies and corporate travel management companies. By consolidating capabilities currently managed across multiple systems, Íslandshótel will simplify booking and distribution management while preserving key integrations across its existing technology environment.
“Bringing our booking and distribution into one connected platform is an important step for us,” said Ásmundur Sævarsson, Chief Commercial Officer at Íslandshótel. “Aven will help us simplify how we manage distribution across our portfolio, strengthen the booking experience for guests and travel partners, and give us a flexible platform to support our continued growth.”
By bringing booking and distribution together within a single platform, Íslandshótel will benefit from a more streamlined approach to managing demand across direct and indirect channels. Aven’s platform is designed to integrate with Íslandshótel’s existing technology stack, enabling the group to modernize the booking experience for agencies and guests while minimizing disruption to current operations.
“Managing commerce across 18 properties and multiple booking channels requires a platform that can bring greater simplicity and consistency to the experience,” said Gene Guhne, senior vice president of sales at Aven Hospitality. “By bringing GDS distribution and booking capabilities into a more connected ecosystem, we’re giving Íslandshótel a stronger foundation to serve guests and travel partners across channels while creating the flexibility to support its continued growth.”
