Australia’s Premier Chairlift Accessed Mountain Bike Park

Three new trails will open for the 2026/27 season marking the resort’s most significant downhill trail build in 30 years, covering every ability from first timer to expert:

Mild Thing: a skills-based beginner trail on Friday Flat, accessible from the Merritts Gondola mid-station.

Cruise Control: an intermediate jump trail with jumps from start to finish, accessible from the base of the Cruiser Area.

The Gauntlet: a double black diamond downhill track running from the top of Merritts Gondola to Friday Flat.

Thredbo Resort General Manager Stuart Diver said the new trails represent an exciting step forward for the resort’s mountain bike offering.

“The three new trails are a huge addition to the Mountain Bike Park and builds on what already makes Thredbo such a special place to ride. From beginners looking to build their confidence, intermediate riders wanting to progress their skills and experienced riders chasing their next challenge, there will be something for everyone this summer,” said Diver.

“The Gauntlet is a particularly exciting addition, bringing a new level of downhill riding to Thredbo and building on the legacy of trails like Cannonball. Alongside Mild Thing and Cruise Control, these trails will continue to grow the riding experience we offer and provide people even more reasons to Find Their Outside voice on the mountain.”

Beyond hiking and biking, Thredbo’s summer event calendar promises a packed season of live music, family-friendly activities, sporting events, including the return of Ultra-Trail Kosciuszko, the Thredbo Christmas Carnival, Kids Summer Adventure Festival, Thredbo Summer Music Series, Thredbo Blues Festival and Snowies Beer, Food & Wine Festival, Mountain Bike Events plus more events to be announced.
