Atlas Ocean Voyages has unveiled its Antarctic program for 2028-29, with explorers able to choose how they discover the wild white continent – fly Drake’s Passage one way and sail the other, fly both ways, or experience the whole expedition by sea. With all the choices featuring Atlas’ renowned, all-inclusive, yacht-style comfort.
To mark the release of the new Antarctic program, Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller, which is the exclusive representative for Atlas Ocean Voyages in Australia, is offering Australians an air credit of US$2000 per twin stateroom for bookings made by January 5, 2027.
Atlas Ocean Voyages’ new collection of 25 Antarctic expeditions from October, 2028, to March, 2029, is now featured on a dedicated page of Cruise Traveller’s website making it easy for Australian travellers to explore voyages that align with their appetite for immersive, small-ship adventure. The 2028/29 Antarctica brochure is available here .
The new 2028/29 Antarctic program will see two of Atlas’ polar-class expedition ships, World Navigator and World Traveller – accommodating less than 200 guests each – offer expedition packages to the bottom of the world from nine to 19 nights, with all-inclusive fares starting from US$12,998 per person, twin-share. Every expedition includes a pre-cruise hotel night and return charter flights from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia in Argentina where all the voyages depart from.
The program features four expeditions that enable guests to pair a quick one-way flight over Drake’s Passage with a sailing in the other direction. Two other itineraries fly over the Drake in both directions, maximising exploration time around the Antarctic Peninsula. There are also longer expeditions of 13 to 19 nights that venture further into the Antarctic wilderness or also embrace the natural spendour of South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.
The Antarctic expeditions are led by a team of up to 17 wilderness guides, naturalists, mountaineers, biologists and conservationists whose expertise and leadership inspires and enlightens guests’ experience of Antarctica.
Included in every expedition are Zodiac and shore safaris, onboard beverages and gratuities, the famous, icy-water, ‘polar plunge’ for the brave, and a souvenir Atlas parka and vest. Also on offer are special, optional activities such as kayaking among icebergs and whales, or camping overnight on shore.
“For most people, Antarctica is the pinnacle of expedition travel and in 2028/29, Atlas Ocean Voyages will offer unparalleled opportunities to experience this wild and pristine place with its towering, electric-blue icebergs, mighty glaciers and abundant wildlife including millions of playful penguins,” said Cruise Traveller Managing Director Joe O’Sullivan.
