Inside Travel, the specialist tour operator behind InsideJapan and InsideAsia, has expanded its Indian Subcontinent portfolio with the launch of Sri Lanka through its InsideAsia brand, following the successful introduction of India in 2025.

The launch marks the next stage of Inside Travel’s expansion across the Indian Subcontinent, with seven new InsideAsia itineraries designed to showcase the depth, diversity and cultural richness of Sri Lanka, while offering travellers the local connections and more immersive experiences the brand is known for.

The new Sri Lanka programme has been developed over the past year by Indian Subcontinent Programme Manager Jess Andrews, who has lived in Sri Lanka for three years and previously developed programmes for Ampersand and Abercrombie & Kent.

“We are so excited to be able to offer Sri Lanka as our latest destination. It is a place that has an incredible amount of depth and variety for its size, and one that continues to spark the imagination of travellers,” said Andrews.

“Being able to draw on my own experience of living in Sri Lanka, combined with the local relationships we have developed, means we can create trips that go beyond the traditional highlights and offer travellers genuine cultural connection and a different perspective on the destination.”

The initial collection of seven itineraries includes Sri Lanka Uncovered, which combines some of the country’s best-known highlights with less-visited experiences. The itinerary includes the tea country surrounding Ella, alongside the lesser-known Wilpattu National Park on Sri Lanka’s north-west coast, renowned for its diverse wildlife.

“You can move from tea-covered hills to tropical coastline, from ancient heritage sites to wildlife reserves, all within the same journey. It offers exactly the sort of cultural depth and local connection that our travellers are looking for and that our agents know us for,” Andrews said.

Wilder Sri Lanka focuses on the island’s diverse ecosystems, taking travellers into its jungles, mountains and coastline, with a focus on quieter national parks and accompanying cultural experiences.

The launch also includes a Family Adventure, reflecting continued growth in family bookings across InsideAsia’s portfolio, as well as a luxury itinerary featuring boutique properties, special stays and uniquely Sri Lankan experiences, including time in the Hatton Hill Country and its spectacular mountain scenery.

“These trips are just tasters of what we can do and a starting point for us. There is lots more to come as we continue to develop the destination and strengthen our connections across Sri Lanka,” Andrews said.

Inside Travel Co-founder and Director, Alastair Donnelly said, Sri Lanka was a natural progression for the business following the launch of India.

“We are very excited to be able to add Sri Lanka to the Inside Travel map. With the vastness of India and everything that destination offers, Sri Lanka was the logical next step for development, and we know our clients want to experience it,” Donnelly said.

“As a B Corp and a company committed to ‘travel as a force for good’, our team is also developing special experiences and initiatives aligned with the Undertourism work we have pioneered across some of our other destinations. This means working with local communities to create positive impact for both local people and travellers.”

“We are looking forward to making further announcements as we close out 2026, but this is just the beginning of our plans for Sri Lanka. There is so much more to explore and develop across the destination,” he said.

The new Sri Lanka itineraries are available now, with further experiences and programmes to be added as InsideAsia continues to expand its local network and product offering.
