Vietjet has received two major international accolades recognising its brand growth, passenger experience and evolving hybrid airline model. The airline was named “Asia’s Leading Airline Brand 2026” at the World Travel Awards and “Asia Low Cost/Hybrid Airline of the Year” by CAPA Centre for Aviation.

The awards come as Vietjet continues to expand its presence in Australia, connecting Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth with Ho Chi Minh City. The new Western Sydney–Ho Chi Minh City route is set to launch in January 2027, while further strengthening connectivity between Australia, Vietnam and destinations across Asia and beyond.

The World Travel Awards recognition, presented in the Maldives, marks another milestone in Vietjet’s international growth. It follows three consecutive titles as “Asia’s Leading Airline- Customer Experience” in 2023, 2024 and 2025, as well as “Asia’s Leading Airline – Airline Loyalty Programme” in 2024. The CAPA award, presented at the CAPA Airline Leader Summit Asia 2026 in Hokkaido, Japan, recognises Vietjet’s strategic development and business model innovation as the airline advances its transition towards a hybrid model.

Vietjet’s hybrid approach is designed to give passengers greater choice across fares, amenities and services, while maintaining competitive pricing and operational efficiency. The airline is also expanding its wide-body Airbus A330 fleet and developing a broader range of products and services to meet different travel needs, from leisure and visiting friends and relatives to business travel.

Vietjet earns two major Asia airline awards, reinforcing its hybrid airline strategy

Mr Nguyen Thanh Son, Vietjet’s Chief Executive Officer, said the airline’s latest recognition reflects its ambition to build a stronger Asian airline brand with a growing global footprint “Vietjet is entering a new phase of growth, repositioning itself as a leading hybrid airline with an increasingly diverse portfolio of products, services and experiences. We envision a Vietjet that not only brings destinations closer, but also creates greater value, richer experiences, and new possibilities for passengers around the world,” he said

Ms. Ho Ngoc Yen Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of Vietjet’s Board of Directors, Vice President and Group CFO, said the airline’s hybrid model was focused on giving passengers greater choice while continuing to invest in its fleet, technology and service capabilities.

“For Vietjet, Hybrid means offering passengers more choices and better experiences on a foundation of competitive fares, operational efficiency, and safety. We are investing in our fleet, technology, and service capabilities so that every step of our growth creates long-term value for our customers, shareholders, and the markets Vietjet connects.”

Vietjet is also investing in technology and connectivity as part of its broader passenger experience strategy. The airline has announced plans to deploy Starlink satellite Internet across its fleet, with the aim of providing passengers with high-speed connectivity in the sky for work, staying connected and online entertainment.

In the first six months of 2026, Vietjet carried more than 13.4 million passengers on 72,000 flights across a network of 213 routes, including 46 domestic and 167 international routes. During the period, the airline continued to expand its international network, adding or announcing new connections with markets including China, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic, alongside further expansion across Japan and the Philippines.

According to Brand Finance’s 2026 airline rankings, Vietjet’s brand value increased 117% to US$906 million, making it the fastest-growing airline brand in the rankings and placing it among the world’s Top 50 most valuable airline brands for the first time.

For Australian travellers, Vietjet’s expanding network continues to strengthen Vietnam’s role as a gateway to Asia, providing greater choice for leisure, business and visiting friends and relatives. From Australia to Vietnam, through Asia and beyond, Vietjet is continuing to connect more destinations, people and opportunities.
