Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has mounted a major international promotion of SKYTOPIA at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show, one of the world’s leading gatherings for the superyacht industry.
The promotion in Monaco is the largest campaign for SKYTOPIA at international trade events since launching the Expression of Interest (EOI) exercise in April for its core project Yacht Bay.
Through a series of high-level engagements and networking events, HKIA introduced the unprecedented opportunities offered by SKYTOPIA’s developments including Yacht Bay and AsiaWorld-Expo Phase 2, targeting international investors, marina operators, developers, hospitality leaders and potential business partners.
Led by Fred Lam, Chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), the delegation engaged with over 100 C-suite executives and leaders from different sectors. Cissy Chan, Executive Director, Commercial of AAHK, presented the vision of SKYTOPIA Yacht Bay and outlined the significant business opportunities for the international yachting, hospitality and aviation industries. AAHK also participated in the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Night (Monaco) 2026 and the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous to introduce SKYTOPIA Yacht Bay and discuss the future of marina investment.
Mr Lam and Ms Chan visited Port Hercule, home to the Monaco Yacht Show, to gain insights into the planning and operations of one of the world’s most renowned yachting destinations, including its yacht club and other auxiliary facilities.
Meanwhile, AAHK also jointly hosted the Hong Kong Reception in partnership with the Economic and Trade Office in Brussels, Invest Hong Kong, AsiaWorld-Expo, the Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The event highlighted Hong Kong’s emerging yachting, tourism and luxury lifestyle offerings, featuring SKYTOPIA Yacht Bay, “The Festival of Connoisseurs”, among other signature experiences.
Mr Lam said, “SKYTOPIA, featuring Hong Kong’s largest yacht bay development, offers an exceptional scale and prime location for water-themed projects rarely found in established international markets. The Yacht Bay will further strengthen Hong Kong’s appeal as an international tourism and lifestyle destination while creating new opportunities for the global marina, hospitality and investment communities. We are actively engaging industry leaders around the world to bring innovative ideas and best-in-class expertise to this landmark development. Together, we aim to establish a world-class waterfront destination that seamlessly integrates aviation, tourism, entertainment and leisure, while opening a new chapter for yacht tourism in Asia.”
Since April 2026 AAHK has invited expressions of interest for the marina project from global investors and leading international players with expertise in marina development and operations, yacht services, hospitality, tourism and large-scale mixed-use projects. A tender exercise is planned for next year, while the first phase of the marina development is expected to be completed in 2028/29.
