Applications are now open for the 11th edition of REMOTE Immersion, taking place from October 4–8, 2027, in El Calafate, Argentine Patagonia, and marking the beginning of a new decade for the boutique travel event created by REMOTE Latin America. The annual event, which brings together tourism professionals sharing a passion for Latin America and the Caribbean, has just announced its 2027 host destination, continuing REMOTE’s mission to unveil the continent’s most remote territories.
After ten years of bringing together independent lodgings and DMCs from Latin America and high-end travel designers from all over the world in some of Latin America’s most inspiring destinations, REMOTE is entering its second decade by embracing one of the region’s most breathtaking landscapes. At the edge of the continent, where vast horizons, ancient glaciers, mountains, lakes, and immense open spaces invite us to slow down and look at travel from a different perspective, El Calafate will set the stage for the next REMOTE Immersion.
In Patagonia, distance creates connection.
El Calafate is more than a spectacular backdrop for the next REMOTE Immersion. It is a destination where nature shapes the way we move through the landscape, while its vastness invites a profound sense of place.
“The choice of El Calafate feels deeply aligned with the spirit that has guided the event from the beginning: going farther to get closer; being REMOTE to connect — to destinations, to people, to ideas, and to one another,” explains Roberto Bitelman, Founder of REMOTE Latin America.
The REMOTE way in a new decade
While the setting is new, the essence of REMOTE Immersion remains, following a formula that combines focused one-on-one business meetings, immersive destination experiences, inspiring content, and social gatherings. REMOTE Immersion was created to move beyond the traditional trade show format, allowing participants to experience the destination firsthand while building lasting business relationships and genuine connections.
In El Calafate, this approach will take on a distinctly Patagonian character. Business meetings will unfold on board boats as they navigate the waters of Lake Argentino, surrounded by the landscapes that make the destination unique, with a different iconic glacier providing the backdrop each day: Upsala, Spegazzini, and Perito Moreno. Curated afternoon experiences will invite participants to discover the region’s natural and cultural heritage. REMOTE will also leave one evening intentionally unscheduled, giving REMOTERs the freedom to wander through El Calafate’s streets, discover its restaurants and local life, and connect with fellow participants.
The event will also continue REMOTE’s commitment to positive-impact tourism and sustainability, with initiatives designed to create value for the destination and its communities. As in every edition, the goal is not simply to bring travel professionals to a beautiful place, but to engage thoughtfully with the territory, minimize the environmental impacts of the event, and contribute to a more responsible travel industry.
REMOTE’s next chapter begins in El Calafate
Since its first edition in the Brazilian Amazon in 2016, REMOTE Immersion has taken place in Chilean Patagonia (2017), Las Catalinas, Costa Rica (2018), Barichara, Colombia (2019), Cafayate, Argentina (2022), Cuenca, Ecuador (2023), Puyehue, Chile (2024), Antigua, Guatemala (2025), Chapada dos Veadeiros, Brazil (2025), and Boquete, Panama (2026), each time shaping the event around the character and opportunities of its host destination. The 2026 edition in Boquete, Panama, marked REMOTE Immersion’s 10-year celebration and brought the community together around a decade of connections, collaborations, and a shared vision centered on Latin Pride and on independent, small-scale, high-end, and positive-impact tourism. Now, El Calafate opens the next chapter.
“REMOTE Immersion is a year-round process. We continually shape and refine the experience with the contributions and feedback of our own community, working together to build an event that evolves with each edition. The same collaborative approach guides our curation, as we carefully select the people, businesses, and experiences that come together to create the right connections and opportunities for both exhibitors and travel designers,” explains Clara Davies, Co-Founder of REMOTE Latin America.
The 11th edition invites the REMOTE community to return to what makes the event unique: to go remote, to create meaningful and lasting relationships, and to experience a destination firsthand before presenting it to clients.
The destination is remote. The connections are anything but.
