Casa Tuya, an intimate twelve-villa resort set in Taro, Ubud, will open its doors in July 2027, introducing a new model of relaxed luxury where thoughtful hospitality and personalized wellness create the space to relax, explore, and discover. Conceived by entrepreneur, designer, and photographer Christopher Katke, Casa Tuya is described not simply as a destination, but as a Safari for the Soul, a return, not to a place but to yourself.

Casa Tuya departs deliberately from the volume-driven hospitality model. With just twelve private, free-standing villas and a five-to-one staff-to-guest ratio, the resort is structured around meaningful connection and a highly individualized experience rather than scale. Guests can choose among three signature programs, Solo, Mindful, and Wellness, each built to meet them where they are, whether seeking a transformative journey, guided healing and wellness, or a restorative escape.

At the heart of the property sits Tio Tio, Casa Tuya’s signature restaurant, where a Mediterranean menu is shaped by wood and charcoal fire. Every element of Casa Tuya, from its cuisine to its wellness experiences, has been thoughtfully designed around one simple idea: true luxury is defined by how it makes you feel.

Guests can immerse themselves in a curated collection of activities and experiences designed so that they never need to leave the property. Wellness at Casa Tuya extends beyond treatments into thoughtfully curated experiences designed around each guest’s individual goals, interests, and pace.

Every detail, from design and dining to wellness and hospitality, reflects Casa Tuya’s commitment to creating meaningful experiences through thoughtful hospitality.

“Casa Tuya is the place I wish I’d found earlier in my own journey, somewhere that doesn’t rush you toward relaxation, but gives you the space to actually arrive. Every detail, from the size of the property to the food we serve, was built around one idea: that you can’t manufacture transformation; you can only create the conditions for it. This isn’t a resort in the traditional sense. It’s an invitation to come as you are and reconnect with yourself.”
Christopher Katke, Founder, CEO of Casa Tuya

Katke brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the project, shaped by decades spent across photography, culinary arts, design, and hospitality. He began his career in photography, working alongside Annie Leibovitz, with work appearing in leading international publications and campaigns for global brands. He later trained at the French Culinary Institute and worked at the Michelin-starred Annisa in New York City before founding BLK BOX Design, creating luxury residential projects for private clients across New York and Europe. Casa Tuya represents the culmination of that path: a resort shaped by years of travel and immersion in different cultures, landscapes, and ways of living, and by Katke’s lifelong pursuit of environments that inspire presence, connection, and personal transformation.

Casa Tuya is open for bookings to welcome guests in July 2027.
