Hilton Sydney Showcases the World’s Most Welcoming Events in 2026

This September, Hilton Sydney will once again transform its Grand Ballroom for the annual 2026 Hilton Sydney Event Showcase, held in partnership with Encore Event Technologies. Taking place on Thursday, 17 September, the evening marks Hilton Sydney’s first showcase built around the hotel group’s new global initiative, World’s Most Welcoming Events (WMWE).

This new initiative is based on new research from Hilton and Ipsos, which found that while 88% of surveyed professionals expect to travel for work events in the next 12 months, comfort hasn’t kept pace with demand. Younger attendees in particular are anxious about everything from what to wear to who they’ll sit next to, and World’s Most Welcoming Events (WMWE) trades the traditional “sunup to sundown” conference agenda for something more considered: welcome hosts stationed around a venue, quiet corners for attendees to step away and reset, menus shared in advance, and icebreakers that don’t feel forced.

For Hilton Sydney, much of this thinking is already standard practice. Every event is assigned a single planner from enquiry through to execution, so organisers have one familiar point of contact throughout. For larger events, clients meet the full delivery team ahead of time at a ‘precon’, while VIP guests are flagged across departments with special amenities arranged.
