Australia’s first Andaz hotel is taking reservations ahead of its anticipated late-2026 opening, promising locally inspired design, ambitious dining and a pool club made for the Gold Coast’s long, sunlit days.

The Gold Coast is hardly a destination that hides its light under a bushel. Now, Hyatt’s design-led Andaz brand intends to follow the sun straight to Broadbeach, with reservations open for the anticipated late-2026 debut of Andaz Gold Coast.

The 202-room luxury lifestyle hotel at 16 Casino Drive will be the first Andaz property in Australia and the Pacific. It will enter one of the country’s most competitive accommodation markets with a proposition shaped around contemporary design, local culture and that most precious of Queensland commodities: sunshine.

Hyatt’s official hotel website confirms that the property is now accepting reservations. Its Broadbeach position places guests near Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, The Star Gold Coast, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and, most importantly for anyone who remembered to pack swimmers, the beach.

The launch represents a notable addition to Hyatt’s Australian portfolio. It also gives the Gold Coast another internationally recognised lifestyle brand as the city continues to broaden its appeal beyond the traditional beach holiday.

“Andaz Gold Coast represents an important milestone as the Andaz brand prepares to debut in Australia and the Pacific,” said David Udell, Executive Vice President and Group President, Asia Pacific at Hyatt. “The hotel has been designed to capture the optimism, creative energy and natural contrasts of the Gold Coast, giving guests new ways to experience the destination through design, food, culture and personal discovery.”

Design follows the Gold Coast sun

The hotel’s design story draws on the changing coastal light, beginning with the clear tones of a Pacific sunrise and moving towards the richer colours of twilight over the hinterland.

Australian practice DBI Architects conceived the architecture, while design studio Hachem created the interiors. Warm coastal shades, expressive materials, shifting light and lush green references to the hinterland will give the hotel a strong sense of place.

That local identity matters. Lifestyle hotels can occasionally feel as though they have been dropped from the same fashionable catalogue, complete with dramatic lighting and a chair nobody quite knows how to sit in. Andaz Gold Coast is aiming for something more authentic: a hotel recognisably connected to Broadbeach and its natural surroundings.

“We look forward to welcoming guests into a hotel that feels unmistakably of the Gold Coast,” said Saraid Carey, General Manager, Andaz Gold Coast. “From sunrise-lit guestrooms and expressive dining to afternoons around the pool and cocktails at golden hour, every element has been shaped around the way people want to experience this destination.”

Rooms made for light, views and longer stays

The hotel will offer 202 contemporary guestrooms and suites, all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and views across the Gold Coast skyline or hinterland.

According to Hyatt’s published room information, guestrooms will include complimentary non-alcoholic minibar items and snacks, Nespresso coffee machines, Byredo amenities, Dyson hairdryers and Chromecast-enabled televisions.

Selected rooms will add private terraces, while larger accommodation categories will feature separate living spaces, bathtubs and dual vanities.

At the top end, the 132-square-metre Andaz Residence Suite will include a further 49-square-metre terrace, a full kitchen, separate lounge and dining room, alfresco seating and sun loungers. It is less a hotel room than a rather persuasive argument for extending the holiday.

Four venues take dining from breakfast to bedtime

Food and drink will form a central part of the hotel’s identity, with four distinct venues designed to carry guests from an easy breakfast through to evening cocktails.

Nove Restaurant and Bar will reinterpret Mediterranean hospitality through a contemporary Australian lens. Local produce, fire-led cooking and shared plates will sit at the centre of its menu and social atmosphere.

Vista Lounge will serve as the hotel’s relaxed meeting place, moving from daytime coffees and light bites to evening drinks. Verde Bar, meanwhile, will focus on golden-hour cocktails and elevated snacks in a more intimate setting.

Then there is Andaz Pool Club, an expansive day-to-night venue combining private cabanas, poolside dining, cocktails and sun-soaked lounging. On the Gold Coast, of course, a pool deck is not merely an amenity. It is practically a civic institution.

Local discovery extends beyond the lobby

Andaz positions its hotels as gateways to their neighbourhoods, rather than polished retreats disconnected from them. On the Gold Coast, that approach will include locally connected cultural and recreational experiences.

Andaz hosts will act as neighbourhood insiders, introducing guests to the city’s culinary and creative communities, beaches, rainforests and hinterland landscapes.

A Technogym-equipped fitness centre will provide the indoor exercise option, although the surrounding coastline may tempt many guests towards the more traditional Gold Coast workout: a long beach walk followed by breakfast.

Opening offers put early bookings in the spotlight

Hyatt has released two packages for travellers planning an early stay.

The Grand Opening Offer provides 20 per cent off eligible room rates, increasing to 25 per cent for World of Hyatt members. Bookings are available until 22 December 2026 for eligible stays from 14 December 2026 to 30 June 2027.

The Gold Coast Escape includes a $100 food and beverage credit and a complimentary upgrade. World of Hyatt members can receive a further five per cent off eligible rates. It requires a minimum two-night stay and applies to the same advertised booking and travel periods.

Both offers remain subject to availability and their published terms and conditions. Travellers and travel advisers should confirm opening dates, eligible rates and inclusions directly with Hyatt before finalising arrangements.

World of Hyatt members may also earn 500 bonus points for each qualifying night during the property’s opening promotion. Hyatt advises that registration, eligibility and program conditions apply, with qualifying stays to be completed by 31 January 2027.

A confident new arrival for Broadbeach

The debut of Andaz Gold Coast is significant for Hyatt, but it is equally telling for the destination. Broadbeach already possesses major shopping, dining, entertainment and convention infrastructure. The arrival of a globally established lifestyle hotel adds another premium choice for leisure guests, corporate travellers and event delegates.

Andaz will not need to teach the Gold Coast how to enjoy itself. That lesson was settled many summers ago. Its challenge will be to translate the destination’s light, landscape and outgoing personality into a hotel experience that feels polished without becoming predictable.

With its locally led design, broad dining offer, substantial pool club and strong Broadbeach address, Andaz Gold Coast appears determined to make its Australian entrance with confidence. Reservations are open; the countdown to golden hour has begun.
