AAT Kings has unveiled its 2027/28 Australia and New Zealand season, introducing a collection of new Small Group journeys, immersive experiences and thoughtfully curated itineraries designed to help travellers discover more than the destination itself. Responding to growing demand for deeper, more authentic travel experiences, the new season places a spotlight on local stories, regional communities and meaningful connections with the people and places that define Australia and New Zealand.
To celebrate the launch, travellers can save up to $2,200 per couple (AUD) or up to $2,800 per couple* (NZD) on selected 2027/28 departures when booking between 10 August 2026 and 30 September 2026 for travel from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2028.*
Headlining the new season is the launch of the nine-day Outback New South Wales Adventurer, a brand-new Small Group journey that ventures beyond the state’s traditional tourism trail to reveal the rich character, living heritage and remarkable landscapes of regional New South Wales. Designed for an average of just 16 guests, the itinerary invites travellers to descend into Australia’s oldest commercial opal mine at White Cliffs, explore Broken Hill’s celebrated mining and arts heritage, experience the changing colours of the outback at The Living Desert Sculptures, wander the historic streets of Silverton and discover more than 40,000 years of First Nations history alongside a local guide at the World Heritage-listed Mungo National Park.

The new offering is a continuation of AAT Kings’ investment in its new Small Group touring, a style of travel that allows guests to experience Australia and New Zealand at a more considered pace through deeper local connections, distinctive accommodation and experiences that are simply not possible with larger groups.
Expanding the Small Group collection even further, AAT Kings has introduced two new New Zealand itineraries, South Island Splendour and South Island Highlights. From meeting local farming families at Real Country to waking aboard an overnight Milford Mariner cruise in the stillness of Piopiotahi (Milford Sound), the new journeys combine world-famous landscapes with authentic local encounters that reveal the heart and soul of New Zealand.
The 2027/28 season also continues AAT Kings’ commitment to purpose-led travel through the expansion of its MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences. New for the season is the Oamaru Penguin Conservation Centre, where travellers gain behind-the-scenes insight into the conservation of New Zealand’s little blue penguins while learning about the important work being undertaken to protect one of the country’s most treasured native species.
Ben Hall, CEO of AAT Kings Group, said the new season reflects a growing desire from travellers to continue moving beyond traditional sightseeing and experience destinations in a more personal and memorable way.
“Travellers are increasingly looking for holidays that go beyond ticking off the icons. They want to connect with local people, uncover stories they didn’t know, and experience the places they visit through the communities, cultures and landscapes that make them unique,” he said.
“Our 2027/28 season has been designed around that idea. At the same time, we’re giving travellers more choice than ever before. From expanded Small Group touring and new immersive experiences to exceptional value through our New Season sale, we’re making it easier for more people to discover the extraordinary diversity of Australia and New Zealand.”
The new season also introduces a range of new Short Break itineraries, providing travellers with greater flexibility to experience iconic destinations through shorter, thoughtfully curated holidays that can be enjoyed as standalone escapes or combined with longer journeys.
To support the launch, AAT Kings has also developed a suite of dedicated trade resources to help travel advisors confidently sell the new season. The first episode of the A-LISTERS podcast series, launching in August 2026, features Head of Product and Contracting John Navarro, who explores the latest travel trends shaping guided holidays and previews the new 2027/28 collection, including the expanding Small Group range, new MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience and Short Break itineraries. In addition, agents can access a range of refreshed sales tools, product resources and campaign assets via the A-LISTERS trade hub at www.aatkings.com/en-au/ resources/alisters.
