Windstar Cruises has introduced a new round-trip sailing from Málaga aboard Wind Spirit, launching once the iconic sailing yacht completes the second phase of the line’s “Setting Sails” refurbishment in spring 2027.

The sailing marks the final ship in the Wind Class fleet to complete the transformation and offers guests an early chance to experience it.

A four-night escape through the Strait of Gibraltar

The new Quick Getaways: Almería, Gibraltar & Tangier itinerary traces a short stretch of coastline where three cultures meet, opening and closing in Málaga, with the 148-guest yacht docked a short walk from the city’s Old Town and the Picasso Museum.

From there, the route heads east along the Andalusian coast to Almería, where the Alcazaba, a vast Moorish fortress, overlooks the city.

Next is Gibraltar, where guests can see the Barbary macaques on the Rock and walk through wartime tunnels carved deep inside it.

The final port is Tangier, across the strait, where the medina winds through open-air markets and centuries-old walls just a few miles from Europe.

By the time Wind Spirit returns to Málaga four nights later, guests will have crossed between Europe and Africa and moved through Spanish, British and Moroccan territory, all without repacking a suitcase.
