Samsonite has sent its latest luggage collection onto the carousel, and Nexis arrives with a clear promise: take the knocks, keep its shape and spare travellers from dragging a small wardrobe through the terminal.
The new premium range blends a neat, timeless look with Samsonite’s exclusive Roxkin™ shell material. The company says this layered material offers high strength at a low weight. It can also spring back into shape after a hit. That should help Nexis face the usual drama of airport baggage handling without looking as though it has crossed a war zone.
A tough case with a lighter touch
The launch campaign uses the line “solid as a rock”. In the main image, a Nexis case breaks through stone to show its strength. Subtle it is not, but luggage advertising has never been a business for shy wallflowers.
The message is simple. A strong case should not feel like a bank vault on wheels.
Roxkin™ sits at the heart of that claim. Samsonite describes it as a self-reinforcing polypropylene material that can absorb shocks, flex under pressure and return to its shape. The outer shell also offers high scratch resistance. Its raised lines add style, but they also help the case deal with impact.
The wheels deserve attention, too. Nexis has chrome-plated suspension wheels for a smooth, quiet ride. The checked cases use 65 mm wheels, the largest in Samsonite’s range. That may sound like a small detail until a traveller meets rough paving, thick carpet or the long walk to Gate 94.
Smart packing without the wrestling match
Inside, Nexis aims to bring order to the usual packing scramble. Fixed dividers, pockets and straps help keep clothes and smaller items in place. A full-width packing section adds more structure. Better still, all four sizes can expand when the souvenir count gets out of hand.
The range comes in 55 cm, 70 cm, 76 cm and 82 cm sizes. Travellers can choose from Onyx Black, Deep Petrol, Cotton White and Deep Forest. The colours are calm and smart. There is not a fluorescent orange in sight, which may be a blessing for everyone at baggage claim.
Nexis is designed and made in Europe. Samsonite says it uses renewable electricity in production. Selected linings, zippers and aluminium tubes are made with recycled materials. The wheels, handles, locks and tags are also built for easier repair, which may help extend the life of each case.
That repair focus matters. Premium luggage now needs to offer more than a handsome shell and a confident price. Buyers also want long service life, practical features, and fewer reasons to replace a case after a few hard trips.
Nexis is available from the official Samsonite Australia website, Samsonite airport stores and selected retailers. For travellers seeking strength, smooth movement and polished design, Nexis makes a solid case in every sense.
