FIJI’S ISLAND HOPPING JUST GOT EVEN BETTER WITH THE ARRIVAL OF OUR NEW FERRY ‘JAGUAR’
Travelling between Fiji’s spectacular islands is about to become even more comfortable, with South Sea Cruises Group welcoming its newest passenger ferry, Jaguar, to the fleet this August.
Purpose-built to connect travellers with the stunning Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, Jaguar offers a smoother, more comfortable and more sustainable way to experience some of the South Pacific’s most breathtaking destinations.
The new vessel is the latest addition to South Sea Cruises Group’s modern fleet following the successful arrival of Yasawa Flyer III, and completes the company’s two-year investment in creating one of the most advanced marine tourism fleets in the region.
Carrying up to 227 passengers, Jaguar has been designed with the holiday experience in mind.
Passengers can relax inside spacious air-conditioned lounges, enjoy sweeping ocean views from panoramic decks, soak up the sunshine in open-air seating areas, grab refreshments from the licensed onboard bar and kiosk, or plan their next island adventure with the onboard travel desk. Behind the scenes, Jaguar is equally impressive.
The vessel features the latest MAN V12 engines, delivering around 10% greater fuel efficiency than comparable vessels, while its advanced hull design helps reduce fuel consumption and wake. Jaguar is also one of only two passenger vessels in Fiji fitted with a sophisticated ride-control system, helping provide a noticeably smoother journey across the islands.
Brad Rutherford, CEO of South Sea Cruises Group, said Jaguar was designed to elevate every stage of the Fiji holiday experience.
“Our guests often tell us that the journey is part of the holiday, and Jaguar has been designed to make that journey even more enjoyable,” said Rutherford.
“Whether guests are travelling to a luxury island resort, boarding a Blue Lagoon Cruise or exploring Fiji’s beautiful Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, Jaguar delivers greater comfort, smoother crossings and an outstanding onboard experience.”
“This new vessel also reflects our commitment to investing in Fiji’s future by delivering world-class marine tourism experiences in one of the world’s most sought-after island destinations.”
Jaguar will begin welcoming passengers from early August 2026.
