Taking on the stewardship of the Orion Residence Kuala Lumpur, a Registry Collection Hotel is one of the industry’s most experienced hoteliers, Davidde Ong. He has over 30 years of international hospitality leadership experience spanning across the region, from Singapore, Mainland China, Thailand to Malaysia and brings with him a proven track record in operational excellence, asset optimization and performance driven management.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Task Force General Manager at Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur, where he successfully steered operations during a transitional period. His other portfolio includes six years with Banyan Group in Malaysia with roles as Hotel Manager at Angsana Teluk Bahang, Penang; and Executive Assistant Manager at Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur and Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur, overseeing multi-property operations and guest experience strategies.
Earlier in his career, Davidde held senior finance leadership positions with Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, including Director of Finance at The Ritz-Carlton Langkawi, Financial Controller at Le Meridien Chiang Mai, and Sheraton Qingyuan Lion Lake Resort, Guangdong, China, where he was part of the pre-opening team.
This diverse background across luxury brands has equipped Davidde with deep expertise in financial stewardship, operational leadership, and guest-centric innovation.
Davidde graduated from Taylor’s University and University of Toulouse with a Master of International Hospitality Management (MIHM). He is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) and holds a Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) from AHLEI.
