The vibrant rhythms of CHamoru music and the promise of tropical island escapes took over Makati’s Glorietta Activity Center earlier this month as the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) launched its massive “Guam With Me: The Manila Event.” From June 6–7, thousands of Philippine consumers stepped into a lively island experience, packing the venue to watch live cultural performances by Inetnon Gefpå’go, meet top travel influencers, and score direct-to-consumer travel packages aimed at making Guam their next family vacation.
The event brought Guam’s culture, hospitality, and tourism industry directly to Philippine consumers through interactive activities, cultural performances, travel exhibits, and destination presentations designed to increase awareness of Guam as a visitor destination.
Participating Guam industry partners included The Tsubaki Tower, Hotel Nikko Guam, Dusit Properties Guam, Stroll Guam, 305 Travel & Tours, Worldmaster International Travel & Tours, Philippine Airlines, and United Airlines.
As one of Guam’s emerging visitor markets, the Philippines represents an important opportunity for the island’s tourism recovery and economic diversification efforts. The event provided a platform for Guam tourism partners to engage directly with potential travelers, promote available travel options, and strengthen relationships with the Philippine travel trade.
A highlight of the event was the participation of Guam cultural group Inetnon Gefpå’go, whose performances introduced attendees to traditional CHamoru music and dance while showcasing the island’s unique cultural heritage.
“The Philippines remains a valuable market for Guam, not only because of our geographic proximity but also because of the strong cultural and family connections shared between our communities,” said Régine Biscoe Lee, President and CEO of the Guam Visitors Bureau. “Events like Guam With Me allow us to tell Guam’s story directly to travelers while creating opportunities for our local businesses and tourism partners.”
The event also featured appearances by Philippine celebrities and influencers who shared their Guam travel experiences with attendees, helping expand awareness of the destination among Filipino consumers.
Beyond promoting Guam as a destination, the event provided participating businesses with opportunities to connect directly with potential travelers and strengthen relationships with travel trade partners in the Philippine market. These efforts support GVB’s broader strategy to diversify visitor arrivals and create additional opportunities for Guam’s tourism industry.
GVB officials noted that increased visitation from emerging markets benefits a wide range of local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, retailers, transportation providers, and small businesses that rely on a healthy visitor economy.
GVB extends its appreciation to all participating partners, cultural performers, media organizations, and visitors who contributed to the success of the event.
