The excitement is high in Falls Creek village today as a light dusting of fresh snow fell across the resort and temperatures dipped as low as –5.4C overnight. Snowmakers took the opportunity to match Mother Nature by firing up the snowguns for the first time this year, signalling the official countdown to the winter snow season, just one month away.

“There’s nothing quite like fresh snow to get the stoke levels rising for the season ahead,” said Sarah Gamon, Falls Creek Marketing Coordinator. “Having the snowguns firing up is an exciting milestone, giving our team the chance to fine tune systems and get everything dialled in ahead of the season. It’s a strong signal that winter conditions are starting to line up, and our snowmaking team is ready to go when the time comes.”

“One month to go! We’ve had a light dusting overnight and are testing all our snowguns,” said Senior Mountain Operations Manager John Palmer. “We’re getting excited!”
