In light of recent industry discussion and speculation around fuel supply challenges, Pearl Expeditions is providing the following update for trade partners and industry stakeholders.
Pearl Expeditions operates M.Y. Paspaley Pearl, a single 50-metre expedition vessel carrying just 30 guests. Its operating model is centred on slow expedition travel – with extended time at anchor, short Zodiac excursions, and unhurried routing. This is fundamentally different from larger-scale cruise operations and therefore carries a significantly lower fuel burn per guest, per expedition.
M.Y. Paspaley Pearl is also equipped with advanced propulsion technology designed to optimise efficiency and minimise overall fuel consumption.
As part of the Paspaley Group and supported by its established infrastructure, the business benefits from strong operational stability and supply chain resilience.
Accordingly, all scheduled voyages will continue to operate as planned. There are no plans to introduce fuel surcharges or increase pricing across 2026 and 2027 sailing programs. This includes all deposited 2027 bookings, which will not be subject to any fuel surcharges.
