Trying to break into cyber? Come hang out at the community-run careers and mentoring village at the CrickeyCon cybersecurity conference at the Brisbane Showgrounds this Saturday.
The cyber careers village CrikeyConnect is a key activity at this year’s CrikeyCon – a community-led conference targeting those with an interest in information security.
The event being held in the Royal International Convention Centre on Saturday 21 March is expected to attract close to 1,000 cybersecurity enthusiasts, gaining valuable insights into the latest security trends and best practices.
The annual conference which is in its 11th year, will feature talks by industry professionals including security leaders from SEEK and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, as well as workshops and activities covering topics such as networking; SMS smishing; security code review and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).
At the CrikeyConnect careers village expect speed mentoring, LinkedIn profile makeovers; mock interview practice; career pathway guidance and free professional headshots.
Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said they were excited to host CrikeyCon for the fourth consecutive year.
“CrikeyCon celebrates cybersecurity innovation in Southeast Queensland so we are delighted they are bringing together experts, enthusiasts and future cyber leaders together at the Brisbane Showgrounds again, “ he said.
The event will take place from 8am to 5.30pm, with tickets still available online
