More than ever, Le Negresco, the iconic art hotel on the Promenade des Anglais, reaffirms its cultural vocation, built on artistic transmission and creation. In 2026, the hotel unveils an ambitious artistic programme structured around two complementary concepts: Les Enfants Arty, a now unmissable rendezvous dedicated to younger audiences, and Les Instants Arty, a new experience designed for adults, at the intersection of contemporary art and the art of living.
Les Enfants Arty – The origins: awakening curiosity, cultivating the imagination
An art hotel certified as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company), Le Negresco aspires to be a space of expression where the very young are free to explore their creativity. Since launching in 2022, Les Enfants Arty has invited young minds to delve into the captivating worlds of art, culture, and heritage. The programme includes exceptional workshops and inspiring encounters with prominent figures from the art scene. This immersive experience aims to spark children’s curiosity and foster their creativity, guiding them on an engaging journey of discovery through artistic and cultural treasures.
Wednesday 15 April 2026 – 8th edition of Les Enfants Arty (ages 4–13), with artist David David
A rising French sculptor and painter, David David is known for his emblematic Blind character – a masked, universal figure that questions the way we see the world. Through his seemingly playful yet profoundly thought‑provoking works, the artist invites a critical and sensitive perspective on contemporary society. For this 8th edition, his universe becomes a creative playground in which children are encouraged to observe, question, and create, guided by an accessible and meaningful artistic approach.
Programme
- ‘Blind’ workshop: Guided by the universe of David David, children will craft their own Blind character through collage and montage. Superimposition, colour harmony, and freedom of interpretation all come into play, with each creation becoming a unique variation of David David’s iconic alter ego.
- Workshop ‘Create your own exhibition on the Promenade des Anglais’: Working from a large photographic display depicting the Promenade des Anglais, young artists will envision their own exhibition of David David’s sculptural works, composing an ephemeral artistic journey. This workshop invites children to reflect on art in public space and to engage in dialogue with the landscape of Nice.
- Collective workshop: A moment of shared creation, this workshop gathers children around a three-dimensional sculpture maquette, specially provided by the artist. The artwork will gradually evolve as it is covered with newspaper fragments through a process of material exploration and layered superimposition.
The event will be held in the Salon Masséna from 2pm to 5pm and will be followed by a gourmet interlude – a convivial signature of the experience crafted by Pastry Chef Yann Le Douaron, reflecting the artist’s universe. The workshops are priced at €65 per child.
Les Instants Arty – An innovative artistic experience for adults
In 2026, Le Negresco will inaugurate Les Instants Arty, a new format designed for art connoisseurs and those seeking exclusive experiences. Designed as creative and sensory interludes, these gatherings offer a privileged encounter with an artist within an intimate setting that blends art, gastronomy, and conviviality.
Thursday 28 May 2026 – First edition of Les Instants Arty, with artist Émilie Bredel
To inaugurate this new chapter dedicated to adults, Le Negresco welcomes French artist Émilie Bredel, whose delicate and ethereal universe celebrates the poetry of the living. Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, she created Faune en Fil, an airy and refined, hand-crafted bestiary where lines of wire converse with emptiness and light. A sensitive and committed approach, it resonates perfectly with the spirit of transmission and emotion embodied by Le Negresco.
Intended as a confidential experience, this inaugural edition will be limited to 20 guests. It will be held on the Régence Terrace, in a twilight setting overlooking the Mediterranean, from 6.30pm to 9pm, providing a uniquely exclusive and inspiring atmosphere.
