This autumn, Sydney audiences can step into a world of romance, champagne and Parisian glamour, as Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour partners with the Australian season of ANASTASIA at the Sydney Lyric Theatre to launch a limited-edition Stay & See experience.
Running from 7 April to 19 July, the exclusive package pairs premium theatre tickets with Sofitel’s signature French luxury — creating the ultimate cultural escape in the heart of Darling Harbour.
Inspired by the legendary tale of Grand Duchess Anastasia and set against the glittering backdrop of 1920s Paris, ANASTASIA is a story of reinvention, romance and finding where you belong. That Parisian spirit feels right at home at Sofitel — a brand born in France and defined by its celebration of art, culture and champagne rituals.

To complete the experience, Sydney Champagne Bar will pour a limited-edition Anastasia-inspired cocktail throughout the season — a sparkling nod to the glamour of Paris in its golden age. Inspired by the beloved ballad “Once Upon a December” from ANASTASIA, Once Upon a Flame is a romantic tribute to the story’s most iconic heroine.
Built on vodka with layers of pomegranate liqueur, strawberry purée, oolong tea, fresh lemon and vanilla, the cocktail balances brightness with softness — much like Anastasia herself. A delicate white foam crowns the drink, evoking the sweep of Russian snow that frames the story’s beginning, while the blush-rose hue beneath nods to Anastasia’s legendary red hair and enduring femininity.
General Manager Sam Panetta said the partnership brings Sofitel’s cultural ethos to life in a way that resonates with modern travellers.
