OneReg, the fast‑growing aviation regulatory compliance platform founded in New Zealand, has announced a strategic investment from Air New Zealand, marking a major milestone in the company’s global expansion.  The national carrier has taken a 5% stake in OneReg at the end of last year, and is rolling out the platform across nearly all of its operational and safety units.

The investment and large-scale deployment represent a major passenger airline contract for OneReg, and a significant endorsement of the company’s mission to modernise aviation safety and regulatory workflows worldwide.

“OneReg is operating in a niche that’s absolutely mission‑critical for aviation,” said Clinton Cardozo, founding CEO, OneReg.  “However, the industry still runs on a lot of outdated systems and technology – including emailing Word and Excel documents to share between parties.  The reality is that as soon as these are emailed, you lose version control.  When we started OneReg, we firmly believed that by building a platform that solves that problem, airlines and airports could get certified, approved and audited faster, and therefore move and innovate faster too.”

Air New Zealand’s adoption of OneReg was championed by its former Chief Digital Officer and now Chief Executive, Nikhil Ravishankar, who cited the company’s deep airline expertise and collaborative approach.

“What stood out most was OneReg’s willingness to co‑innovate and co‑develop solutions with Air New Zealand,” Ravishankar said.  “OneReg offered a system with the flexibility to manage updates and documentation in real time, aligning with the airline’s broader shift towards more digital, data‑driven ways of working.”

In addition to the investment, Air New Zealand has already deployed OneReg across its Engineering and Maintenance divisions, where teams are using the platform to manage the policies, processes and procedures that underpin airworthiness and maintenance operations, further demonstrating OneReg’s ability to support complex, large‑scale operational environments.

Scaling up for international demand

With Air New Zealand now both a customer and shareholder, OneReg is preparing for rapid international expansion.  The company already supports most New Zealand airports and a growing number in Australia, and is now in active discussions with airlines and airports across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

“Having such a forward-thinking airline like Air New Zealand onboard opens a lot of doors for us,” Cardozo said. “We are talking to other airlines, and announcements of contracts with new international airports are likely in the near future.  Our technology advantage is a key differentiator in a sector dominated by legacy platforms.”

OneReg was founded during the COVID‑19 pandemic, when global aviation shutdowns exposed the fragility and inefficiency of traditional compliance processes.  The company’s ambition is to create a unified, digital ecosystem for regulatory documentation – enabling airlines, airports, regulators, and defence organisations to collaborate seamlessly.

The company’s vision is to get “the entire aviation eco‑system singing off the same hymnsheet,” supported by strong relationships with regulators such as the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAANZ).

OneReg’s team has grown to 21, with four senior leaders now relocating to establish on‑the‑ground operations in key markets.  The company is prioritising regions where commercial interest is strongest.

Backed by investors including Ascendo Capital, Angel HQ, and K One W One, OneReg is now entering a new phase of scale.
