Adventure World, the leading custom travel specialist renowned for its “Travel with Purpose” ethos, welcomes the appointment of Heath Ashcroft as its new National Accounts Manager. Based in Melbourne, Ashcroft will report directly to Head of Sales, Elsa McLean, overseeing the brand’s growth and agency partnerships across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
Ashcroft joins Adventure World with an extensive pedigree in the global travel industry and a career defined by values-led leadership. His appointment reinforces Adventure World’s commitment to its purpose-driven approach, bridging the gap between high-end exploration and sustainable impact.
Ashcroft’s career spans several continents and prestigious roles. He began as a Tour Leader for Topdeck Travel in Europe before moving to London-based African specialist Acacia Africa, where he eventually rose to the rank of Sales and Marketing Director. Most recently, Ashcroft served as Director of Sales for G Adventures in Asia, where he secured major contracts across Japan, South Korea, China, and India. Following a tenure in the philanthropic sector with the Leukaemia Foundation, he returns to travel to align his expertise with Adventure World’s conservation and community goals.
“Having worked with Adventure World as a partner early in my career, I feel I have come full circle,” says Heath Ashcroft. “I am proud to join a brand that is both a household name and a dynamic innovator. Adventure World’s dedication to stewarding the environment and supporting local communities through travel aligns perfectly with my personal values.”
Elsa McLean, Head of Sales at Adventure World, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Heath to the team. His deep industry knowledge, proven sales leadership, and genuine passion for purposeful travel make him the perfect fit. His unique blend of commercial travel experience and philanthropic work will be an invaluable asset to both Adventure World and to our partners in the Australian market.”
Did You Know?
Heath’s commitment to “slow travel” is literal. He and his partner once backpacked from Ushuaia to Cancun using 50 buses, a dugout canoe, a bicycle, and a very sturdy pair of hiking boots. “If I knew then what I know now, I might have booked a few more flights!” Heath jokes. “But the silver lining is that my partner and I are still together—if you can survive that journey, you can survive anything.”
