In Bangkok, December dining can descend quickly into noise. Imported traditions, over-dressed buffets and seasonal theatrics tend to arrive early and linger well past their welcome. Against that backdrop, Khum Hom Restaurant has opted for a different approach this festive season, one that keeps its feet firmly in Thailand.
Led by Chef Ian Kittichai, whose career has been built on interpreting Thai cuisine for international audiences without diluting its character, Khum Hom is offering a series of set menus across Christmas and New Year that are notable less for spectacle than for restraint.
The intention is clear. These are not Western holiday meals dressed up with Thai garnish. They are Thai menus, served at a time when many diners may be craving something familiar but better grounded.
Christmas Eve: Regional Thai, Served Quietly
On 24 December, Khum Hom will serve a six-course Thai-inspired Christmas Eve dinner from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm, focusing on regional dishes rather than festive novelty. The menu has been designed to reflect Thailand’s culinary geography, drawing from flavours that favour balance and depth over display.
Priced at THB 2,600++ per person (food only), the dinner positions itself as an alternative to the more elaborate hotel offerings found elsewhere in the city — suited to diners who prefer their celebrations calm, and their food unapologetically Thai.
Christmas Day: Two Services, Same Philosophy
The same menu continues on 25 December, available at both lunch (12.00 pm–3.00 pm) and dinner (6.00 pm–9.00 pm). It includes dishes such as southern curry-marinated grilled Andaman grouper and slow-cooked beef cheek Hung-lay curry, plates that lean into patience and technique rather than festive excess.
At THB 2,400++ per person, the pricing reflects Khum Hom’s positioning, refined but not theatrical, and allows Christmas Day to be marked without turning it into a production.
New Year’s Eve Without the Fireworks
On 31 December, Khum Hom closes the year with a seven-course New Year’s Eve menu, served from 6.00 pm to 10.30 pm. The emphasis remains on regional Thai flavours, interpreted with modern discipline rather than reinvention.
At THB 3,000++ per person, the dinner offers a composed alternative to Bangkok’s louder year-end celebrations. There are no promised countdown gimmicks, just a longer meal, paced to suit the occasion.
Member Privileges
Across the festive period, ALL members earn triple Dining Rewards points. Accor Plus Explorer members receive 30% off, while non-members are offered a 15% early-bird privilege with full, non-refundable advance payment secured by 15 December.
