Two of the world’s most iconic artists Mariah Carey and Pitbull will lead a blockbuster festival line-up at the Brisbane Showgrounds this Friday for Fridayz Live.

More than 32,000 people will head to the sold-out event to see an all-international RnB roster also featuring multi-platinum rapper Wiz Khalifa, the King of Crunk Lil Jon, hip-hop star Eve, UK pop-rapper Tinie Tempah, and American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.

It will be co-headliners five-time Grammy winner Mariah Carey and Mr Worldwide himself, Pitbull’s, first time back in Australia in more than a decade, with each to perform an hour-long set for fans.

The event is part of an Australian tour, with Brisbane first to experience the highly anticipated festival, followed by Sydney, Perth and Melbourne.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said they were thrilled to host one of the biggest nights of live music this year.

“It’s incredible to see global superstars like Mariah Carey and Pitbull performing right here at the Brisbane Showgrounds,” he said.

“Fridayz Live has built a reputation for delivering world-class entertainment and it’s fantastic to welcome the event back to the Showgrounds after taking a year off.”

Fridayz Live kicks off the Brisbane Showgrounds’ Spring / Summer music festival season, followed by Good Things on December 7 headlined by Tool, and Wildlands and Ocean Alley in January.

The 18+ event runs from 4pm to 10.30pm this Friday (17 October).

The Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor/outdoor events site. Visit www.brisbaneshowgrounds.com.au
