Adventure World is celebrating a major win for Australian travellers: as of 22 September 2025, Australians no longer need a visa to enter Chile. Instead of paying US$120/AU$180 and applying in advance, visitors now receive a free passport stamp on arrival.
Easier Journeys to South America
This streamlined entry removes a long-standing barrier for Australians planning South American adventures. Santiago, Chile’s bustling capital, is one of the region’s key gateways and a launchpad for exploring Patagonia or connecting to Argentina. With visa-free access, Australians can now explore Chile more spontaneously, stay longer, and enjoy greater flexibility when travelling across the continent.
Ana Salazar, Adventure World’s Latin America Product Manager, calls the change a win-win:
“This change in policy opens the door for more Australians to truly experience Chile. With the Atacama Desert, Patagonia’s wild beauty, world-class wines, and generous culture, Chile has so much to offer. Easier entry means more Australians can embrace it—and Chile’s communities stand to benefit from the connections and stories that will follow.”
New Visa Rules for Australians
- No visa required for entry as of 22 September 2025
- Passport stamped free of charge upon arrival
- Transit and multiple-entry visas no longer exist
- Visa fees paid before this change are unaffected, as the update does not apply retrospectively.
