The Western Sydney Tourism Awards 2025, hosted by Western Sydney Tourism Taskforce NSW Inc, brought together the region’s tourism champions for a spectacular night of celebration, recognition, and cultural pride. Held at the Liverpool Catholic Club, the event honoured outstanding contributions to Western Sydney’s thriving visitor economy.

The venue was transformed into a vibrant showcase of the region’s identity, featuring a striking “Destination Western

Sydney” theme, complete with a large airplane installation, wildlife figures, and directional signage symbolising the region’s journey toward becoming a global tourism hub.

Guests were treated to a rich tapestry of multicultural entertainment, including a captivating Chinese cultural performance and energetic Pacific Island dance, reflecting the diversity that defines Western Sydney.

The evening began with a warm video message from NSW Premier Chris Minns, followed by opening remarks from Hon. Minister

Steve Kamper ,Minister for Jobs and Tourism, and Mayor Ned Mannoun of Liverpool City Council. Karen Jones, CEO of Destination NSW, joined Minister Kamper in presenting key awards, including Best Campaign, Hotel of the Year, Conference Business of the Year, and Best Tourism Business.

Chair of the Western Sydney Tourism Taskforce, Ms Fazila Farhad, opened the night with a powerful message:

“Following the success of our inaugural event last year, we are thrilled by the overwhelming response to this year’s awards. These awards not only celebrate excellence in tourism but also honour the vibrant, diverse, and ever-evolving spirit of Western Sydney. With the Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) opening next year, we welcome the NSW Government and Destination NSW’s focus on Western Sydney as a destination in the 2035 Visitor Economy Strategy. Our mission is to position Western Sydney as a premier local and international destination, showcasing our members, stakeholders, and local businesses to drive economic growth across the region.”

A total of 13 awards were presented across categories including hotels, arts, music, hospitality, and conference venues ,events, and suppliers with winners recognised by industry leaders such as Qantas, Accor Hotels , IHG Hotels & Resorts, Winter Sports World, Inglis Group, Vietnam Airlines, Quest Hotels, Park Royal Parramatta, Bradfield Development Authority, and Destination NSW.

The night also featured exciting lucky draw prizes, including two return tickets to Vietnam sponsored by Vietnam Airlines, overnight hotel stays with breakfast, winery getaways, and passes to wildlife parks and ice rinks.

With strong support from local councils, MPs, tourism operators, and businesses, the Western Sydney Tourism Awards 2025 was a resounding success—highlighting the region’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusive growth in the tourism sector.
