Marriott International, Inc. and CDL Hospitality Trusts recently signed an agreement to convert Raffles Maldives Meradhoo to The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection, introducing the Autograph Collection to the Maldives for the first time. Beginning 1 November 2025, the resort will officially join the brand portfolio and welcome guests under its new identity. With its brand promise of “Exactly Like Nothing Else,” the Autograph Collection brand is home to a curated selection of individual boutique hotels, each chosen for their inherent craft and distinct perspectives on design and hospitality, offering rich immersive moments that leave a lasting imprint.
“We are pleased to collaborate with CDL Hospitality Trusts on the debut of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection in the Maldives — a significant milestone that marks our continued growth in one of the world’s most sought-after holiday destinations,” said Gautam Bhandari, Senior Vice President, Hotel Development & Operations for Singapore & Maldives, Marriott International. “As global demand rises for distinctive and high-quality hospitality, the Maldives presents an exceptional opportunity to deliver on our promise of differentiated experiences in extraordinary locations. The debut of Autograph Collection here underscores our commitment to expanding in key leisure markets while celebrating the unique character of each destination.”
Set within one of the Maldives’ most pristine and secluded atolls, The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection is set to offer an immersive journey of exploration into the natural splendor of the archipelago inspired by the expeditions of Harry Charles Purvis Bell, whose early 20th century expeditions across the Maldives unveiled the islands’ rich and layered past.
The resort is expected to feature 38 ultra-exclusive villas across two private islands — one graced with elegant overwater villas, the other home to tranquil beachfront villas. Ranging from one- and two-bedroom villas to the spacious three-bedroom villa, each villa includes a private pool and is thoughtfully designed for the modern traveler, blending contemporary luxury with timeless island aesthetics set to inspire guests to embark on their own journey of connection, serenity, and wonder. The resort is also slated to offer personalized butler services catering to the discerning needs of guests longing for a truly private experience.
Plans also include for the resort to offer an array of elevated facilities, including two swimming pools, a spa with exceptional yoga programs and a fully equipped fitness studio. For adventure and exploration, guests can look forward to a variety of water sports, including a dive center with access to a number of untouched dive locations and an aquatic activity center. Dining will be a central part of the experience, and the resort is slated to feature five distinctive dining venues delivering curated culinary journeys that celebrate both Maldivian traditions and global flavors.
Exclusively nestled in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives is directly accessible via a scenic 90-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport in Malé or by a domestic flight to Kaadedhdhoo or Kooddoo Airport followed by a speedboat ride to the resort, ensuring a seamless and memorable arrival to this private island sanctuary. Private jets can land at Gan International Airport and connect to the resort via seaplane or speedboat.
Marriott International currently has 10 properties across 8 brands in the Maldives. Slated to be Marriott’s 11th property in the nation, The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection will be part of Marriott Bonvoy, the global travel program from Marriott International.
