Sharing a short update from Intrepid Travel – Last Thursday, 28 August, we marked the launch of its Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) with an evening event in Melbourne, attended by First Nations partners, industry colleagues, Intrepid’s Board, while our global executive leadership team were in town.

The Stretch RAP builds on our existing commitments and outlines deeper, more integrated actions to support First Nations communities and embed reconciliation across the business.
Guests included representatives from Tourism Australia, Reconciliation Australia, Reconciliation Victoria, Visit Victoria, Welcome to Country, Country Needs People, Cox Inall Ridgeway, VTIC, and other key partners and stakeholders across tourism, sport, and government.
The evening featured a Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Elder Uncle Bill Nicholson Jr, reflections from Reconciliation Australia’s Kate Delany, Intrepid ANZ Managing Director Brett Mitchell, and RAP Advisory Committee member Trish Adjei. Guests also viewed a video message from First Nations artist Sheryl Burchill, who created the RAP artwork.
“The Stretch RAP is a reflection of the journey we’re on deepening our commitment to reconciliation and making sure we’re walking the talk across every part of the business,” said Brett Mitchell, ANZ MD at Intrepid Travel. “We’re grateful our launch event was attended by our partners and friends supporting our journey.”

We were proud to celebrate the night with food and drinks from First Nations-owned suppliers, Ngarrgu Djerring, Jarrah Boy, My Dilly Bag, Illustory and Seven Seasons.
