Vietjet will return as naming rights sponsor for the beloved Redcliffe KiteFest for the next two years, as the event prepares to take flight with a revamped format and free entry for all.
Held on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2025 in the Moreton Bay region, the Vietjet Redcliffe KiteFest invites families, locals, and visitors to roll out a picnic rug and look to the skies, with the world’s largest and most spectacular kites set to steal the show once again.
This year, the event has been stripped back to celebrate what made KiteFest iconic in the first place – the colour, movement and wonder of kites soaring high above the Redcliffe Peninsula. A public fly zone, kite-making workshops, food trucks, and kids’ activities will complement the breathtaking displays, creating a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with no entry fee.
Luke Edwards, CEO of Visit Moreton Bay, said the return of Vietjet and the revised format mark an exciting new chapter for the region’s signature event.
“We’re proud to welcome Vietjet back as naming rights sponsor for 2025 and 2026 – their continued support reflects the strength of this event and its importance to our community,” he said.
“This year’s format is all about inclusivity and ease – creating space for people to experience the simple magic of kite flying and the joy of being together outdoors.”
Vietjet’s sponsorship also celebrates Vietnamese kite flying culture, and the airline’s commitment to building strong connections between Queensland and Vietnam through direct flights from Brisbane Airport.
The Vietjet Redcliffe KiteFest is expected to attract hundreds of attendees across the weekend, offering an unforgettable and accessible experience for families. Visitors are encouraged to make a weekend of it – explore Redcliffe’s seaside restaurants, experience the end of whale watching season, or pick your own strawberries at nearby farms.
