Wild Bush Luxury is giving visitors the chance to see the rarely seen, natural phenomenon of the flooding of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre by adding more dates to its Arkaba and Lake Eyre package.
The Lake has not completely filled to capacity since 1974 when it reached a record depth of six (6) metres. According to experts, this year’s flood is shaping up to reach a similar level – a sight to behold in the heart of the country’s most arid area.
Located approximately 700km north of Adelaide, Australia’s largest salt lake is transformed into a shimmering expanse of colour and life during the flooding phenomenon. Floodwaters flowing from the Georgina and Diamantina rivers are already bringing with them new fish life and a teeming bird population of pelicans, silver gulls, banded stilts and gull-billed terns some from as far away as China and Japan.
To meet demand, Wild Bush Luxury has added new dates for its Arkaba and Lake Eyre package. As part of a limited-time itinerary, guests will be able to enjoy a privately guided full-day Lake Eyre experience, including a scenic flight timed to capture the lake at its most spectacular.

The package is priced from $6,125 per person, twin share, and includes a three-night, all-inclusive stay at the historic Arkaba Homestead – a renowned wilderness lodge in the heart of the Flinders Ranges – a full-day Lake Eyre experience, including a scenic flight over Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre, and a complimentary pre-night hotel stay in Adelaide.
The package includes all-inclusive bush-inspired meals, all beverages including local South Australian wines and boutique spirits, exclusive access to a private conservancy with just five guest rooms. Twice-daily guided field experiences bring the landscape to life, covering geology, wildlife, conservation and Indigenous cultural insights.
“The flooding of Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre is a stunning natural phenomenon and the time to see it is now,” said Tiarna Spiteri, General Manager, Arkaba Conservancy. “Seeing Kati
Thanda-Lake Eyre from the air ultimately provides the best bird’s-eye perspective, while the privately-guided experiences allows guests to better understand the natural phenomena which brings an influx of birds, fish and wildlife.”
The package is available for select departures between August and November 2025.
For the travel trade, this package is commissionable at 10% and is valid for new bookings only on selected departures between August and November 2025.
