Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok invites guests to pause and savour the season with its Summer Afternoon Tea, served in the timeless surroundings of The Authors’ Lounge until 31 August 2025. A cherished part of Bangkok’s heritage for over a century, this elegant venue continues to offer a setting where time gently stands still.
Thoughtfully presented on a book-shaped stand that honours the lounge’s literary legacy, the Summer Afternoon Tea set draws inspiration from the brightness and delicacy of the season. Sweet selections include a Strawberry Tartlet Sorbet with lemon ginger crèmeux, a Rhubarb and Jasmine Tea Flan, an Apricot & Curry Tartlet with a subtle spiced note, a
Cherry Amaretto Danish, and warm traditional scones – plain and raisin – served with rose petal and raspberry jam, Devonshire clotted cream, mascarpone or butter.
The savoury collection offers a considered interplay of freshness and depth: prawn cocktail with tobiko caviar and orange gel on fennel seed toast; smoked salmon rillette with piment d’Espelette cream and dill on crisp toast; coronation chicken with apricot gel on yellow curry bread; summer truffle and cream cheese on black toast; and turkey ham with Comté cheese and Dijon mayonnaise on pumpernickel.
The Summer Afternoon Tea, served daily from noon to 6 pm, is priced at THB 1,980++ per person, including tea or coffee. Vegan and gluten-free options are available with advance notice.
