Spread the love

Barry Urquhart - anime-style versionSpeechless.

In the absence of widespread consistent and conspicuous presence of understanding, care, empathy and service, Value and its true worth and influence are seldom articulated. The importance of value should, however, never be discounted it simply takes commitment, conviction, enthusiasm and belief to determine the appropriate and preferred narrative.

LET’S TALK ABOUT IT

Conversations and presentations that do not feature, elevate, and promote the nature, advantages, and benefits to all stakeholders inevitably lead to an outcome of zero net worth. That is a shame and largely self-inflicted.

In the current prevailing anxiety era, emotions are raw, exposed and potentially positively responsive to an application of emotive nurturing. In short, value is often not calibrated in monetary terms.

A complex web is negotiated to arrive at the best preferred and most satisfying decisions and conclusions. Emphasis on the wish for a rush to “get to the bottom line”, “close the sale”, “stitch the deal” typically involves taking shortcuts. That can be expensive for all parties. It may save time, but it may cost the business.

DON’T WALK AWAY

Having “skin in the game” leads to better performance, greater productivity, and enhanced long-term competitiveness and profitability. This is reflected in bonus schemes that necessitate equity, medium-term measures, and projective reward periods. Clients, customers, team members, and shareholders win, with little evidence of any exclusions.

Pride in ownership, participation, and contribution is a satisfying state of mind that can be an initial or interim step on the pathway to increased demand, transactions, revenue, profits, and dividends. It is difficult to assign a price to pride. However, it is a leverage to expand financial measures.

Time is money. Therefore, invest more time in transactions to enable value to ascend to the heights of competitive and comparative value.

Many people are reluctant to walk away from an interaction in which they have invested considerable time. (Read: People value their time as much, or more than their money.)

Endeavouring to conclude a deal when facing a time limit or constraint is ill-advised. Time, like understanding, care, empathy, service, and compassion, is priceless and should be respected accordingly.
