Thailand is set to transform its tourism landscape with the launch of Thailand Summer Festivals 2025, a spectacular seven-month-long celebration under the theme ‘7 Months 7 Wonders’. From March to September 2025, this ambitious initiative will feature over 70 immersive events across seven dynamic categories: Songkran, Pride, Cultural Festivals, Music, Sports, Food, and Arts & Creativity. With a strategic vision to cement Thailand as a global festival hub, this series is part of the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025—an initiative designed to drive tourism, economic growth, and cultural prestige.

A Grand Vision for Thailand’s Tourism Growth

Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra emphasized the festival’s importance in driving Thailand’s economy, stating:

“Tourism is a cornerstone of our economy, contributing over 14% of our GDP. Through Thailand Summer Festivals, we aim to position our nation as a year-round travel destination, mitigating the effects of the low season with vibrant cultural and entertainment experiences. This initiative is expected to attract millions of global visitors and generate a record-breaking 3.5 trillion Baht in tourism revenue.”

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra presided over the official press launch at Government House alongside Tourism and Sports Minister Mr Sorawong Thienthong, Culture Minister Ms Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, and key cabinet members. Dr. Surapong Suebwonglee, Deputy Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chairman of Thailand’s National Soft Power Development Committee, was also in attendance.

Strengthening Thailand’s Global Festival Identity

Tourism and Sports Minister Mr Sorawong Thienthong highlighted how the event aligns with Thailand’s strategic tourism growth:

“With 2025 designated as the Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year, we proudly invite travelers worldwide to experience Thailand’s diverse cultural heritage. The Thailand Summer Festivals will showcase grand celebrations that blend tradition and innovation, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a premier global destination.”

Meanwhile, Culture Minister Ms Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol emphasized the significance of Songkran’s UNESCO recognition:

“With Songkran now an Intangible Cultural Heritage under UNESCO, we are taking this festival to unprecedented heights. The ‘Grand Songkran Festival’ will showcase Thailand’s unique traditions while incorporating modern elements, positioning our country as a world-class festival hub and boosting cultural tourism.”

March: The Grand Kickoff

• MotoGP – PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2025 in Buri Ram, marking Thailand’s first-ever season-opening race.
• World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, celebrating the spirit of Muay Thai.
• Pattaya Music Festival & PELUPU International Music Festival 2025, attracting top international artists.
• International Kite Festival 2025, bringing breathtaking aerial displays.
