Future Drive AutoShows will present the Sydney International EV AutoShow after a twelve-year absence on the Sydney auto calendar. Hot on the heels of the success of the Electric SUV Expo and the Melbourne EV Show which attracted over 40,000 visitors, Sydney audiences will be afforded the same opportunity. The show will provide a one-stop shop for everything EV including PHEVs, BEVs, e-motorbikes, charging, finance, infrastructure and accessory options. Amongst the high-profile brands on display, industry names include Ford, Audi, XPeng, Tesla, KIA, Zeekr, GWM, Segway-Ninebot, BP Pulse, SMART, AGL, Hankook and EuropCar. Hon. Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy will present a keynote on the Saturday.

Attendees are invited to get up close with the largest range of EVs under one roof including the option to test drive a range of vehicles. The show comes at the right time with the NSW Government investing almost half a billion dollars to incentivise the uptake of electric vehicles and assist in the transition. Investment will support the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs) and reduce barriers for the transition to EVs with $149 million to EV fast charging and millions more injected into EV fleets, destination charging, building grants for EV preparedness and EV kerbside charging grants.
Over the three days, tens of thousands of visitors will come together to explore the latest offerings in the transition to greener transportation. EV enthusiasts will be invited to learn from industry titans, experts and influencers on the live stage sessions with something for all the family. Sam Evans, the Electric Viking will host the event with displays, demonstrations and live panel discussions. Speakers include Jason Clarke, CEO, TrueEV, Geoffrey Rutledge, Deputy Director-General, Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate, ACT Government, Mabelle Reyes, Head of e-Mobility, AGL, Dr Scott Dwyer, Research Director, Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF), University of Technology Sydney, Pete Thorne, President, Tesla Owners Club of Australia and Emma Sutcliffe, Director, EV FireSafe.

Electric vehicles offer significant environmental advantages due to their lower running costs and advanced technologies. The Australian Electric Vehicle Industry Recap 2023 recorded more than 180,000 EVs on Australian roads with 98,436 of that figure new EV purchases. Globally electric car sales are predicted to reach 17 million with one in five cars sold worldwide electric. The growing popularity of EVs in Australia demonstrates the importance of providing eventgoers with a 360-degree view of this fast-charged space. With more brands coming to market all the time EVs are becoming more accessible from sedans to utes, to trucks, to SUVs and luxury vehicle options. Even the sky is electric with EV planes and flying cars.
Australia is on a one-way track to a cleaner, greener future with the National Electric Vehicle Strategy addressing standards, affordability, range anxiety, education and awareness. 2025 will see the return of the show to Melbourne electrified for the modern era as Future Drive AutoShows presents the Light Commercial AutoShow in March and the Melbourne International EV AutoShow in June. The AutoShow will be the last major event of its kind before the federal government implements the fuel efficiency policy on the 1st of January, 2025.
