MasterChef Australia recently returned to Hong Kong for the first time since its inaugural 2009 series to film three mouthwatering episodes of the hit show. Judges Andy Allen, Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli, plus this season’s crop of creative contestants discovered the delicious destination’s top attractions, world renowned street eats and some of the stars in its Michelin constellation.

MasterChef Australia judge Andy Allen said: “I’ve never been to Hong Kong, but I’ve been really interested in the place for a long time. That’s because I see the city’s array of food is off the charts: it’s a melting pot of different cultures, bold flavours, and one-of-a-kind ingredients.”

“Blending Michelin-starred restaurants with bustling street markets, it seems to have this world-class food culture going on. It’s so good that now myself, the other judges, and contestants can finally get amongst it this season.”

“We are thrilled to partner with MasterChef Australia to showcase Hong Kong’s celebrated culinary scene. The three Hong Kong episodes, will allow viewers to immerse themselves in some of the city’s legendary foodie hotspots through the eyes of the renowned judges and talented contestants. The episodes will highlight that Hong Kong is home to some of the most diverse culinary experiences in the world.” Karen Macmillan, Director, Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific, Hong Kong Tourism Board, shared.

Travelling in association with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and Cathay Pacific, MasterChef Australia’s visit will showcase the city’s dynamic fusion of East-meets-West culture on our screens.
