New Development in Music City
Nissan Stadium
Nashville will unveil its state-of-the-art Nissan Stadium in the spring of 2027, welcoming a new era of major sporting events and concerts to Music City. The 2.1 million square-foot, multibillion-dollar stadium will seat 60,000 and feature 170 luxury suites, high-tech displays, expansive concourses with frictionless concessions, all housed under a translucent roof.
The stadium will incorporate local businesses that reflect the Music City identity. Bluebird East, the first expansion of the legendary Bluebird Cafe, will honour the city’s songwriter community, holding songwriter rounds, writing sessions, and intimate music events. The stadium will also hold the first-ever satellite location of Robert’s Western World, bringing the authentic honky tonk experience to fans and attendees.
The stadium kicks off with an exciting 2027 event schedule, welcoming Zach Bryan’s Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs Tour, with special guests John Fogerty and Fey Fili (22 May), Kenny Chesney’s Original Vibe Room Tour with Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, and Greylan James 3 (July), as well as the BBCL Banana Bowl, the 2027 Banana Ball Championship Game (25 Sept.).
In May 2026, the NFL announced that Nashville will host Super Bowl LXIV at Nissan Stadium in 2030, marking the city’s first time hosting the event. The announcement follows the success of the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville, which attracted more than 600,000 fans and helped influence the league’s approach to creating immersive fan experiences. Nashville has “earned a reputation for hosting major events at the highest level,” as stated by Deana Ivey, President & CEO of Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp.

VOCE Hotel & Residences is planning a fall 2027 opening for a 25-story mixed-use tower in Nashville’s Midtown neighbourhood. Moxy Downtown Capitol District will stand eight stories tall with 188 rooms within The Bend at Capitol District, a mixed-use project adjacent to the Tennessee State Capitol and Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
Restaurants
Music City’s culinary scene continues to evolve in 2027 with new local and independent restaurants as well as nationally recognised brands. In Wedgewood-Houston, brothers Ryan and Matthew Poli, the team behind Iggy’s, will open Claymore, a local 60-seat American steakhouse, focused on hospitality with prime cuts of beef, carefully sourced ingredients, and a bold beverage program.
In Germantown, Terry Black’s BBQ will open its first location outside of Texas in early 2027. Pie Town welcomes multiple new concepts such as Uchi, elevated, non-traditional Japanese cuisine from James Beard Award-winning sushi master Tyson Cole, as well as St. Anselm, a tavern-style steakhouse from Starr Restaurants. The Arcade will add Sushi by Scratch, a Michelin-starred omakase concept, to its culinary offerings in 2027.
Flight Club will bring British pub fare and tech-enabled social darts to Nashville Yards. Beloved New York City bakery Levain will open its first Tennessee location on 12 South, serving handcrafted cookies, artisanal breads, and more cafe options.
Expansions
Nashville International Airport (BNA) continues to expand with its $3 billion New Horizon improvement program, including new gates, expanded concourses, additional parking facilities and upgraded terminal infrastructure. A central ramp expansion is planned for fall 2027, preparing the airport to accommodate over 40 million passengers annually.
Nashville International Airport (BNA) and Air France announced in October 2026 a new nonstop route between Nashville and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, with the first flight taking off May 14, 2027. Paris is the third-most-travelled European destination for passengers departing Nashville, and the route is expected to drive at least $80 million into Tennessee’s annual economy. Air France also designated the flight number AF046 in honour of Dolly Parton’s birth year, 1946.
Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, celebrating 50 years in 2027, is scheduled to complete a $131 million expansion, adding more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The expansion, the largest single project in resort history, will enhance capacity for larger conventions and family-focused events. Recent additions include the Governor’s and Presidential Ballrooms, Foundry Fieldhouse sports bar, and a new event lawn and pavilion.
Bridgestone Arena will begin work on a $750 million expansion in 2027, with completion targeted for 2030. The transformative project, titled “Smashville’s Next Stage: Broadway 2030,” will enhance fan and pedestrian experience with additional event seating and escalator systems, and expanded concourses. Plans also include major retail and dining space facing Nashville’s Lower Broadway and what is expected to be Nashville’s largest rooftop bar.
Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage is planning a $132 million major renovation and expansion, including a new 70,000-square-foot Visitor and Education Centre, updated visitor amenities and restored historic spaces. The property is one of the most visited presidential homes in the United States, attracting over 170,000 people a year, and holds eight historic buildings, Jackson’s tomb, enslaved quarters and cemetery, a church and a historic garden. The project, titled “Held by the Land”, will highlight the natural Tennessee landscape through a tree-lined entrance and reoriented walking paths designed to preserve the grounds.
