Nusa Dua, Bali has achieved a 99% waste diversion rate across its 745-key beachfront estate during the first eight months of 2026.

The YTD metrics reflect a deliberate, multi-year progression in reducing municipal landfill reliance across the resort’s three luxury properties and nine dining venues. Home to some of the largest accommodations on the island—including 108 expansive private pool villas and 111 all-suite units—the
multi-award-winning estate demonstrates that large-scale, high-end hospitality can operate with minimal environmental impact.

Building on historical performance benchmarks—where landfill diversion stood at 94% in 2022, over 95% in 2023, and 97.5% in 2024—the estate is on course to close 2026 with less than 1.1% of its total operational waste reaching landfills.

A Holistic Approach to Estate Stewardship
Maintaining this standard across an expansive property relies on meticulous segregation across 15 operational categories at source, adhering to protocols aligned with EarthCheck benchmarking standards:

  • Botanical & Garden Care: 100% of green waste from the estate’s extensive landscaped grounds is processed on-site for organic composting and mulching.
  • Glass Container Recovery: 100% of glass materials are segregated by color across beverage outlets and transferred into regional recycling pipelines.
  • Culinary Organic Recovery: 100% of organic kitchen prep waste is redirected to local agricultural partners for livestock feed programs.

Combined with long-standing plastic-free commitments, cassava-based alternatives, and high-efficiency water reclamation systems, Mulia Bali continues to demonstrate that uncompromised luxury and environmental responsibility can operate in complete harmony.
