The China International MICE Exchange (CIMX) announced that the Shanghai Lin-gang Special Area will participate in CIMX 2026 as Official Destination Showcase Partner. Taking place November 3–5, 2026, in Beijing, CIMX is a new-generation international B2B trade show dedicated to the MICE and business travel industry, developed by Messe Berlin China. The partnership marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration to showcase Lin-gang’s growing strengths as one of China’s most dynamic destinations for international meetings, incentive trips, conferences, and business events.
Lin-gang Showcases its MICE Potential and Innovation Ecosystem
As China’s first state-level Special Area established under the Shanghai Free Trade Zone framework, Lin-gang benefits from pioneering institutional innovation, high-level opening-up policies, and a business-friendly environment designed to facilitate global investment and cross-border collaboration. Supported by advanced transportation infrastructure, modern convention and hospitality facilities, and a rapidly expanding ecosystem of future-oriented industries, including artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, biomedicine, intelligent manufacturing, and the digital economy, Lin-gang is emerging as an ideal destination for international conferences, corporate meetings, industry forums, and incentive programs.
Connecting Lin-gang with Global MICE Buyers
Leveraging the strategic alignment between both parties, CIMX will contribute its strengths as an international exhibition platform with a global industry network and its professional hosted buyer program to connect Lin-gang with qualified international MICE buyers, event organizers, and corporate decision-makers. The partnership aims to enhance Lin-gang’s international visibility, attract high-value business events, and further strengthen its position as a gateway for global MICE engagement in China.
“As an innovation-focused and rapidly developing destination, Lin-gang will shape a new generation of business-event experiences from the outset—delegates can engage directly with future-oriented industries, visit companies and research platforms, and experience the scenic waterfront environment around Dishui Lake. At CIMX, we look forward to introducing international planners to these possibilities and working with them to develop distinctive programs that participants would not experience elsewhere,” said Xiaoyan Zhang, Deputy Director, Division of Commerce, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Lin-gang Special Area Administration.
As Official Destination Showcase Partner of CIMX 2026, Shanghai Lin-gang Special Area will benefit from a comprehensive destination promotion program, including a dedicated exhibition presence, official branding opportunities, conference participation, and targeted business matchmaking. These activities will showcase Lin-gang’s advantages in hosting international meetings, conventions, corporate events, and incentive travel programs while strengthening engagement with global buyers seeking emerging destinations and investment opportunities in China.
“CIMX’s mission is to connect global MICE resources, destinations, and industry decision-makers, while supporting the continued internationalization and professional development of China’s MICE industry,” said Nikolaos Swoch, Director of CIMX. “Lin-gang represents one of China’s most progressive development zones, combining institutional innovation, international business connectivity, and strong industrial foundations. We are delighted to welcome Lin-gang as Official Destination Showcase Partner and look forward to jointly creating new opportunities for international business events in China.”
Strengthening CIMX’s International Destination Network
This partnership further advances CIMX’s mission of bringing a wide range of MICE destinations and suppliers together at its inaugural edition. By gathering global destinations, convention bureaus, venues, hotels, and business event suppliers from China and around the world in one place, CIMX is establishing itself as a premier platform for international business exchange and collaboration within China’s rapidly evolving MICE industry.
