Singapore’s 50-year travel veteran is embracing a major technology overhaul, bringing its booking systems together in a bold move to sharpen service, boost efficiency and prepare for its next half-century.
Some 50th birthdays call for champagne and cake. Others call for speeches that run far too long. Singapore’s Pacific Arena has a different plan. It is giving its travel business a major technology upgrade.
On 13 October 2026, the company announced a deal with Amadeus. It has selected the Amadeus Travel Platform as its main booking and servicing system. Pacific Arena plans to replace its current global distribution systems (GDSs). The goal is to centralise key tasks.
For clients, the attraction is clear. Staff could spend less time switching between systems. That should leave more time for good advice, faster changes and help when a trip goes wrong. Travel, after all, has a habit of ignoring even the best itinerary.
Fifty Years Young and Ready for a Reset
Founded in 1976, Pacific Arena serves leisure and business travellers. It also handles cruises, meetings and events. Its brands include PriceBreaker, Cruise Arena and Accolade. Its business travel operations also link to the ATG (AllStars Travel Group) network.
Each part of the business has different needs. A cruise is not a business trip. Nor is a major incentive event. Yet every travel consultant needs fast access to accurate information.
Pacific Arena expects the change to cut duplicate work. It also wants better insight into business performance. Staff should find it easier to serve clients across its operations.
Cheryl Chung, Vice President of Pacific Arena Pte Ltd, put the investment in the context of the company’s anniversary:
“As we mark 50 years of travel excellence, we are investing in the right technology to carry Pacific Arena confidently into the next 50. Amadeus gives us a platform that matches our ambition one that allows our teams to access richer travel content, operate more seamlessly across every business line, and ultimately deliver experiences that our clients will remember. This is a new chapter for our company, and we are excited about what it means for our travelers and our teams.”
More Content, Fewer Moving Parts
The Amadeus Travel Platform connects travel sellers with suppliers worldwide. Its content covers flights, hotels, trains, cruises and experiences at each destination.
Pacific Arena also plans to use Amadeus Robotics and other productivity tools. They can automate routine jobs. That could mean less manual work for staff.
There is an important point here. This is an announced plan, not a completed migration. The company has not given a completion date. It has not announced the contract value or any proven time savings.
For travel advisers, the aim is familiar. Less administration means more time for people. That matters most when bookings change at short notice.
And no matter how clever the software becomes, it still hasn’t persuaded a thunderstorm to move out of an airport’s way.
A Wider Signal for Southeast Asian Travel
For Amadeus, it is a deal with a long-established Singapore travel company. It also reflects a wider shift in the industry. Travel firms want simpler tools, broader choice and better ways to serve customers.
Ramona Bohwongpersert, Senior Vice President, SE Asia, Inside Sales & Startups APAC, Travel Sellers, Amadeus, welcomed the partnership:
“Pacific Arena has built a remarkable legacy as a trusted travel partner for Singapore’s corporate and leisure communities. We are proud to be chosen as the technology partner to support the next phase of their journey and this partnership reflects the confidence that travel sellers across Southeast Asia are placing in Amadeus to power their digital future”
The real test comes later. Can staff book trips faster? Will changes be easier to handle? Will clients see more useful choices? Those results, not the announcement, will tell the story.
Pacific Arena turns 50 with plenty of experience. Now it wants the tools to match. That sounds like a sensible way to prepare for the next half-century.

Christine’s story is one of quiet courage, told without fuss and lived with remarkable grace. She arrived in Australia as a young refugee from Vietnam, carrying little more than hope, family, and a curiosity that refused to be extinguished. Sydney became home, built patiently, brick by careful brick.
She studied Tourism at TAFE and soon found her place in inbound travel, working with one of the city’s leading destination companies. Christine loved showing visitors the Australia that lives beyond postcards, warmer, truer, and far more interesting.
When the sea began to whisper, and life asked for a gentler rhythm, she listened. Designing brochures, writing blogs, she discovered storytelling waiting quietly inside her.
Today, at EGT Media, Christine writes with warmth and wisdom, reminding us, softly and persuasively, why travel still matters.
