Australians with Europe in their 2027 sights have been handed a timely reason to reach for the calendar and perhaps the credit card, with Qatar Airways launching Early Bird fares to Europe from $1,779 return in Economy Class.

The campaign is open for bookings from 6 to 30 October 2026, with travel available from 17 January to 31 October 2027, subject to availability, blackout periods and route-specific conditions. Business Class fares start from $8,699 return.

For travellers who prefer planning ahead rather than playing airfare roulette three weeks before departure, the offer puts more than 40 European destinations on the table, including perennial Australian favourites such as Rome, Athens, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin and Berlin.

Qatar Airways’ Australian campaign lists departure options from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, connecting travellers through Doha. For Australians already dreaming of Italian kitchens, Swiss railways or Greek sunsets, it provides a useful opportunity to lock in the expensive part of the holiday before 2027 arrives with its hand out.

There is, naturally, fine print.

The cheapest advertised Economy fare applies to selected travel dates, while blackout periods vary by Australian gateway. Seasonal and weekend surcharges may also apply, and Qatar Airways says its advertised fares were correct as of 6 October 2026. Travellers should therefore check the final fare rules before booking rather than assuming every Saturday in July will obediently produce the headline price.

The connectivity story is becoming almost as interesting as the airfare.

Qatar Airways operates what it describes as the world’s first and largest Starlink-equipped widebody fleet, reaching 150 Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft by August 2026. The airline says Starlink can provide connectivity speeds of up to 500 Mbps per aircraft on equipped services.

That investment has also earned industry recognition.

At the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, Qatar Airways retained its 5-Star Airline rating and collected four titles: World’s Best Business Class for the 13th time, Best Airline in the Middle East for the 14th time, World’s Best Business Class Lounge for the eighth time and the inaugural World’s Best Onboard Wi-Fi award. Skytrax independently confirms Qatar Airways topped its 2026 Business Class and onboard Wi-Fi categories.

For Australian travellers, however, the headline remains refreshingly simple: Europe from $1,779 return is the sort of fare that can turn “we should go next year” into an actual booking.

The sensible move is to compare dates carefully, read the fare conditions and secure the preferred itinerary while availability remains.

Europe will still be there in 2027.

The better-priced seats may not be.

Quick with a smile, quicker with a solution, she made deals with warmth and kept her edge intact.
Trade shows, FAM’s, airport lounges and hotel lobbies became her second address. And somewhere along the way, notebook in hand, she began writing the journeys rather than selling them. Her reports grew lively, observant, full of the small truths only travellers notice.
That was the moment it dawned on her: she wasn’t simply travelling. She belonged in its stories.
