Minor Hotels, a global hospitality group, has appointed Patrick Manthe as General Manager of Avani+ Luang Prabang in Laos, bringing an experienced regional hotelier to the 53-room property within the UNESCO World Heritage town.
A Swiss national, Manthe brings more than 25 years of international hospitality experience across Asia, Europe and Australia. He joins Minor Hotels from Amari Pattaya in Thailand, where he served as General Manager, overseeing resort operations, commercial strategy and the development of its dining and guest experiences.
Before joining Amari, Manthe held General Manager positions at Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan and Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay in the Philippines. At Boracay, he led the resort’s reopening, with revenue and gross operating profit reaching record levels in 2022. He also strengthened the resort’s identity by introducing art and cultural experiences into the guest offering.
His earlier career includes four years as General Manager of Chatrium Hotel & Residence Riverside Bangkok and the pre-opening leadership of U Sathorn Bangkok. He also served as Hotel Manager at Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok and General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi, following senior food and beverage roles with Conrad and Hilton.
In his new role, Manthe will oversee hotel operations, commercial performance and team development at Avani+ Luang Prabang. Working closely with the hotel team, he will focus on delivering Avani’s signature service and developing guest experiences that reflect the town’s culture and traditions.

Manthe holds a Higher Diploma in Hotel Management from the Swiss School of Hotel and Tourism Management in Switzerland. He speaks German and English, with conversational French.
Set in Luang Prabang’s old town opposite the night market, Avani+ Luang Prabang is surrounded by temples, boutiques and local cafés. The hotel combines contemporary comforts with access to the town’s living heritage and experiences on the Mekong River. Avani+ Luang Prabang is one of two Avani properties in Laos, following the opening of Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane in July 2026.
