Brisbane Airport has secured Brisbane’s first Costco warehouse, bringing one of the world’s most recognisable retailers to a major new destination on the city’s doorstep.
Costco will occupy a 6.7-hectare site, featuring a 15,600m2 warehouse and fuel station and is set to open late 2029.
It will be Costco’s first location in Brisbane City and the fourth store in Queensland.

Costco’s arrival will mark a key chapter in transforming the location into a broad mixed-use precinct.
Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff said Costco would be a popular drawcard for the new precinct.
“Costco’s commitment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Brisbane Airport and is the first of many announcements to come as we bring to life a new mixed-use precinct for the city.
“Costco is just the beginning. Even a retailer of this scale will occupy only 12% of this huge development site, leaving significant opportunities for other businesses to establish themselves alongside one of the world’s most recognised retail brands.”
Costco Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand Chris Tingman said the new Brisbane Airport warehouse is a strong vote of confidence in the area’s growth, with an investment of over $145 million in retail development.
“It is great news for our members across Brisbane. This is a dynamic and fast-growing region, and we look forward to bringing even greater value to members through our wide range of products and services. With over 900 sites worldwide and 15 other warehouses across the country, I am confident the community will benefit from the unique shopping experience Costco offers.
“Costco provides its members with exclusive access to quality brand-name merchandise at lower prices than typically found at conventional wholesale or retail stores. Our quality products range across groceries, electronics and apparel, along with our exciting fresh foods business. We will also offer substantial value in optical and hearing aid centres, a tyre centre and our food court.
“The warehouse will have 870 car parking spaces and will feature a fuel station with 34 bowsers for quick refuelling.
“It will employ approximately 250 full-time staff once complete.
“To sign up, visit Costco.com.au. Members can shop online right away and use their membership at any warehouse around the world. An annual Costco membership costs $65 for businesses and individuals, and $130 for Executive Membership.”
Located just 12 kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD and directly connected to South East Queensland’s road network, the site brings together scale, accessibility and visibility in a way few development sites can.
Brisbane Airport continues to deliver its $5 billion Future BNE transformation, creating jobs, attracting investment and strengthening the airport’s role as an economic powerhouse for Queensland.
