Last year, a swiffer sweeper corgi took the crown in an intense competition for best dressed. Just down the beach, two corgis went head to head in the 100-meter dash. This September 11–13, the beach belongs to the corgis for Corgi Nation Vacation. Oceanfront pawties, sunset wine tastings, and a free beach festival built entirely around everyone’s favorite short-stacked besties.
The Free Main Event: Corgi Beach Fest
The heart of the weekend is Saturday’s Pismo Beach Corgi Beach Fest, free and open to everyone, corgis and honorary corgis alike. From 10 AM to 1 PM on the sand just south of the Pier, hundreds of corgis gather for costume contests, races, live music, a vendor village, and photo ops, all against a custom sand art corgi installation created just for the occasion.
The VIP Weekend
VIP ticket holders get access to three exclusive oceanfront events across the weekend and a tote bag filled with goodies. VIP tickets are available now on Eventbrite for $150 per ticket.
Friday, Sept 11, 5–7 PM — Welcome Tiki Luau Pawty at Dolphin Bay. A sunset kickoff at Dolphin Bay overlooking the coastline, with a flower lei greeting for every corgi, Corg d’oeuvres and Barktails for the pups, appetizers and a themed cocktail for the humans, a live DJ, a Best Dressed Corgi contest, a souvenir photo, and giveaways.
Saturday, Sept 12, 5–7 PM — Wine Tasting & Sunset Pawty at Seacrest Oceanfront Hotel. The entire oceanfront is reserved for an afternoon of local Pismo winery pours, gourmet pizzas, Corg’cuterie boards, music, cliffside ocean views, and a sunset send-off to the day. Unlimited tastings included, plus Barktails and treats for the corgis.
Sunday, Sept 13, 9–11 AM — Farewell Brunch at Vespera Resort. A beachfront Sunday brunch to close the weekend, with special snacks for the corgis and seaside views for the send-off.

Make a Weekend of It
Many visitors arrive Friday and stay through Sunday. Beyond the festival, Pismo Beach offers surfing, coastal hiking at the Pismo Preserve, the Monarch Butterfly Grove, wine tasting, and the nearby dunes, all within minutes of downtown. Festival weekend sees high demand, so early lodging reservations are encouraged. Several Pismo Beach hotels and resorts are offering exclusive Corgi Nation Vacation room rates for the weekend. Parking at the VIP venues is limited, so carpooling, rideshare, and walking are all encouraged.
