Local favourite Charley Hull keeps the home crowds roaring at Centurion Club, firing a six-under-par 67 on Saturday to hold solo second place heading into the final round of the PIF London Championship.
The five-time Ladies European Tour winner overcame an early setback to card nine birdies on the day, moving to a 16-under-par total. Hull sits just three strokes off the pace as she prepares to mount a Sunday charge for the $2M prize purse in front of a home gallery.
“I didn’t start off too well, but I bounced back and felt like I played pretty solidly,” said Hull. “The home crowds were great. As for tomorrow, I’m just going to go out there, have fun, make some birdies, and see what happens.”
Sitting atop the leaderboard at 19-under-par is Canada’s Anna Huang, who fired a bogey-free 65 (-8) to retain her lead for the third consecutive day. The 17-year-old sensation closed her round with an eagle on the 18th hole, setting up a final-round battle alongside Hull.
“Anna is a really good player, and I was thoroughly impressed by her game today—she’s got the whole package,” Hull added. “She’s only young and we will definitely see her out on the LPGA Tour soon.”
Beyond the competition on the course during Round 3 of the PIF London Championship, Golf Saudi spent the day doubling down on its effort to bring new faces into the game through a packed slate of grassroots and community clinics. Highlighting the day’s activities was an exclusive session led by legendary champion Gary Player, who offered hands-on instruction to adult players. Alongside Gary Player’s masterclass, Golf Saudi hosted a Go Golf short game clinic tailored for 10 Saudi participants, an interactive session in the Women’s Golf Lounge with LET professional and Golf Saudi ambassador Marianne Skarpnord, and a dedicated Women’s G4D (Golf for Disabled) clinic hosted by Moroccan LET player Maha Hiddioui.
These sessions were built on a full week of community outreach organized in partnership with the Muslim Golf Association (MGA), which brought more than 250 women and young girls to the course over the first two days.
