American Airlines is supporting relief efforts in response to the recent earthquakes in Venezuela with a call for fundraising to provide aid to those affected in Caracas, La Guaira and surrounding regions.
American is working with its nonprofit partners to offer assistance as they begin to mobilize their response and relief efforts.
How to help
- Support relief efforts by donating to the American Red Cross to help people affected by the Venezuela earthquakes. AAdvantage® members who donate a minimum of $25 to the American Red Cross will receive 10 AAdvantage® bonus miles for every dollar donated.
- Donate to UNICEF’s Change for Good program to support the organization’s emergency response teams who are working on the ground to provide lifesaving support for children and families.
- In addition to financial aid, donate AAdvantage® miles to enable critical aid missions for the Red Cross, UNICEF and other organizations. Members can also donate AAdvantage® miles through Miles for Social Good to help these organizations and others expand their recovery efforts.
What to know about American’s operation
American’s operation at Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) is currently scheduled to resume on July 3 once the airport reopens.
To provide additional flexibility and assistance, American has capped fares for all direct flights departing to and from CCS and has issued a travel alert, allowing customers whose travel plans are affected to rebook without fees, cancel or receive a refund.
