Martinez Bar at Hôtel Martinez was named one of the world’s 37 Hotel Star Bars verified by Forbes Travel Guide (“FTG”), the world’s leading authority on luxury hospitality. The full list is featured on ForbesTravelGuide.com.

This year’s honourees, spanning 18 countries, were identified through data gathered as part of FTG’s 2026 Star Ratings, based on exacting incognito inspections globally. The bars named to the list excelled in scores related to their beverage program and presentation, as well as providing seamless, luxurious service, an exceptional guest experience, and a unique atmosphere and ambiance.

Having recently been awarded France’s prestigious Palace distinction, Hôtel Martinez is world-renowned for its longstanding association with the Cannes Film Festival, having welcomed generations of celebrities, filmmakers, royalty and business leaders. Blending iconic Art Deco heritage with contemporary luxury, the hotel has a prime beachfront location on La Croisette and is home to some of the largest penthouse suites in Europe. Its acclaimed culinary offering includes the Michelin-starred La Palme d’Or, the seafront restaurant La Plage du Martinez, and the stylish Martinez Bar.

Opened in March 2025, Martinez Bar is an elegant new addition to Cannes’ social scene, welcoming hotel guests, visitors and locals alike. Designed by Rémi Tessier, the bar combines the glamour of the 1930s with contemporary sophistication, featuring rich damask fabrics, Persian rugs, Tiffany lamps, shimmering gold accents and striking octagonal columns inspired by high-end sound systems. Conceived as a chic lounge where classic elegance takes centre stage, the space hosts immersive vinyl evenings through its integrated sound system. The cocktail menu pays tribute to Hôtel Martinez’s Art Deco legacy with inventive twists on timeless classics, including The M Negroni, crafted with homemade Negroni Calvados. A refined food menu complements the drinks selection, featuring indulgent bites such as golden caviar with aubergine dip, Niçoise-inspired socca and crispy langoustines.

Michel Cottray, General Manager, Hôtel Martinez commented: “We are delighted by this Forbes Travel Guide recognition. When we reimagined the bar, we wanted it to be a vibrant crossroads of culture, style, and taste – capturing the very essence of Cannes. For us, luxury is a feeling created through immaculate details, artisanal mixology and exceptional craftsmanship. I am incredibly proud of our team, brilliantly led by our Bar Director, Delphine Grossmann; they understand that world-class service should be sophisticated but spontaneous, welcoming the world to the Côte d’Azur with open arms.”

“The 2026 Hotel Star Bars reflect how today’s most exceptional hotel bars enrich the overall guest experience,” said Hermann Elger, CEO of FTG. “From distinctive beverage programs to thoughtful service and atmosphere, these enclaves within beautiful hotels create moments that extend far beyond the glass and leave lasting impressions and memories.”
