The Cook Islands are set to enjoy a prime-time tourism spotlight when Australia’s favourite travel program, Getaway, returns to the South Pacific this weekend.
Viewers can tune into the Nine Network on Saturday, 13 June at 5.30 pm to watch presenter Livinia Nixon front the first of six dedicated episodes showcasing the beauty, culture and laid-back charm of the Cook Islands.
The opening instalment, titled “Relax in Rarotonga”, takes audiences on a journey around the island with a local guide before exploring the lush Marie Nui Gardens. The adventure then shifts to the stunning Muri Lagoon, where the crew checks into the renowned Nautilus Resort Rarotonga before sampling local flavours at the famous Muri Night Market.
