This January, voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley will bring a fresh culinary experience to the region with the launch of a limited-edition Yum Cha menu at its signature dining venue, Locavore Restaurant. Set on 70 acres of manicured gardens and rolling valleys, the boutique estate will serve the sharing-styled menu every Wednesday-Sunday from 12pm – 3pm throughout the month.
Guests will be invited to indulge in a steaming selection of traditional dumplings served in bamboo baskets, alongside crispy spring rolls, sticky rice parcels and delicate sweet treats – all designed to share over tea. The limited-time summer offering invites both locals and visitors to discover a new side of Hunter Valley dining at one of the region’s most charming estates.
The $88 per person set menu begins with classic favourites including Pork & Prawn Siu Mai; Prawn Har Gow; BBQ Pork Bun and Shanghai Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), served with Sticky Rice Parcels wrapped in lotus leaf with chicken, mushroom and Chinese sausage; Steamed Tender Broccolini with oyster sauce and XO Sauce Pan-seared Scallops topped with house-made XO chilli sauce.
A series of hot dishes inspired by traditional Cantonese flavours will follow, featuring Duck Spring Rolls served with house-made hoisin sauce; Fried Vegetarian Gyoza Crispy dumplings filled with seasonal vegetables and Sesame Prawn Toast Golden coated with sesame seeds.
To finish, diners can enjoy a refreshing Watermelon & Coconut Jelly and a soft, sweet Peanut Mochi rice cake.
Guests staying overnight can enjoy the experience at an exclusive rate of $66 per person, by adding ‘Yum Cha’ in the Special Request field when booking.
