In a move that signals its growing affection for Australian skies, American Airlines has introduced its new, premium Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the Brisbane–Dallas Fort Worth route, marking a fresh chapter for long-haul luxury between Queensland and the United States.

Flying between 27 October 2025 and 28 March 2026, the state-of-the-art jet offers a passenger experience so thoroughly thought out it could almost be described as Texan hospitality meets Queensland comfort.

Premium Economy gets a makeover.

Not to be left in the vapour trail, Premium Economy passengers will notice an entirely reimagined space. The 32 redesigned seats now feature elegant headrest wings for privacy and calf and footrests that turn a long-haul leg into something approaching relaxation.

Wireless charging, a dedicated water-bottle nook, and multiple power outlets ensure that no device — or passenger — runs flat en route to Dallas. The sleek look, the trim refreshed, and the intent unmistakable: elevate every rung on the comfort ladder.

Main Cabin with primary character energy

Meanwhile, the Main Cabin steps confidently into the streaming age. Each seat boasts 4K QLED screens powered by the latest Thales entertainment system, serving American’s formidable catalogue of films, audiobooks, and children’s shows.

The upgraded Dreamliner’s arrival follows American’s debut in Brisbane in late 2024, a milestone that drew applause from aviation watchers on both sides of the Pacific.

Brisbane → Dallas Fort Worth departs at 8:40 a.m. and arrives at 8:34 a.m. (the same day, thanks to the dateline sleight of hand).
Dallas → Brisbane departs 9:50 pm, landing 5:30 am two days later.
Brisbane ↔ Los Angeles operates three times weekly between 3 December 2025 and 1 February 2026, leaving BNE at 12:10 pm and arriving at LAX at 7:15 am. Return flights depart at 9:35 pm, arriving at 5:45 am two days later.
